The Plains Creatures

The Snow Scuttler is a mob insect. They are about a foot or less in length and weigh about 5-15 pounds. They have large shearing jaws for cutting through thick hide and chipping away ice. They have semi-translucent bodies that allow them to blend in quite well with their surroundings. Their eyes are very tiny and they hunt mostly by using their antennae. Large colonies of them roam the plains in search of food of any kind, groups will often wander into the mountains in search of a meal.

The Rock Biter is a unique creature indeed. In all of the Ardri lands there is no bird so fierce as the rock biter. They can be anywhere from 3 to 6 tall and weigh up to 300 pounds. They are lone predators that often outrun smaller prey and kill them outright with their large, sharp, hooked beaks or weaken them by kicking them with their powerful talon tipped legs. This animal is named for its low intelligence as they have occasionally been seen eating small rocks.
