The Magnificent Captain Marvel

Water sprayed from the showerhead and onto Carol Danvers' face. The cool liquid blasted the sweat off her brow and streamed down her body. Carol rubbed shampoo into her hair and smiled happily. She loved a good shower. It was a great way to relax and be alone with her thoughts. And she had a lot of thoughts. Primarily thoughts about her superhero status. Although she had incredible cosmic power and superhuman characteristics, and although her public prestige had grown after she became Captain Marvel, Carol was still not nearly as famous as heroes like Captain America or Spiderman.

"I've saved the world more times than the both of them combined." Carol said to herself. She stepped out of the shower full of doubts as she reached for a towel.

"So, what is it that keep my popularity down? Are my villains not lame, are my adventures not appealing?"

As she blow-dried her hair Carol pondered these questions and wondered if there was a way to revamp her image. When she was finished, Carol spun around and ran her hands through her hair to make sure it was dry. With her back turned, she peaked over her shoulder to look at herself, now sure her golden hair was free if moisture. However, she continued to stare at herself, with her sight drifting away from her head and towards her body. For a second, her eyes dotted around the bathroom superfluously making sure she was alone. Then Carol mischievously smiled as she lifted her forearms knowing that they kept her towel in place and watched as, without her support, the towel fell from her body and landed on the floor.

"Damn," Carol remarked, "I. look. GOOD!"

Carol Danvers had no reservations about her body. She was a perfect 10 out of 10, and she knew it. Carol smiled at the person in the mirror. She had toned, pale skin, bodacious breasts that were so big they could be seen peeking out from Carols sides, Voluptuous hips, and a curvaceous butt to match. It was times like this when she missed her old costume. Yes, it was basically a swimsuit with thigh-highs and was a major contributor to her not being taken seriously by the public, but man did it present what she was working with a lot better. So, Captain Marvel marveled at her own gorgeous body for a minute, lost in her beauty.

"Attention, Captain Marvel," A voice called throwing the superheroine out of her enchantment. Instinctively she threw her arms over her body in panic. "Emergency alert, please respond."

Carol gave a sigh of relief. For a second, she had thought someone had caught her, but it was actually just an Avengers Alert. Carol reached down and grab her towel before wrapping it around herself again. This time making sure to knot it up so it wouldn't fall. She walked out of the bathroom and into her apartment. It was mostly bare except for a few base pieces of furniture and several cardboard boxes staked near the front door. Carol had only just moved into this apartment and hadn't had the time to unpack yet. Even though it had been a few days. Carol marched through her new apartment towards her communicator stopping only for a second to pet her Flerken, Chewie.

"Danvers here," the heroine replied picking up her communicator, "what's the issue."

"Carol its Hill. We've detected a massive meteorite heading towards New York. It will make impact in three minutes. We need you to deal with it."

"Affirmative. I'll take care of it." Carol answered putting the communicator away. "Time to save the world again."

Carol headed for the large stake of boxes still sitting next to the door so she could retrieve her costume. She'd need it if she was heading into space. There was just one problem.

"Now, which box did I pack my costume." Carol asked herself. She began searching through the boxes one by one. She opened boxes filled with books, kitchen utensils, framed photos, and cat toys but for some reason just couldn't find her costume. She grew ****, remembering she didn't have that much time and started dumping out boxes of her possessions onto the living room floor as Chewie looked on. After emptying the last box and making a mess of her new apartment, Carol still couldn't find her costume or any of her clothes for that matter!

"Shit, where are they!" Carol said. Getting on her knees and shuffling through her discarded possessions. Yet not a single article of clothing emerged. She began to wonder if she had forgotten to pack her clothes or just left the boxes at her family home in Maine.

"Carol!" Maria Hill's voice called from the communicator. "What are you doing? The meteor just entered Earth's atmosphere. You have to stop it quickly!"

Hearing this, Carol stood up and looked around at her mess of an apartment. She had no clothes and no time. She looked down at herself, still dripping wet and wearing nothing but a towel. The captain bit her lip, realizing she had no other choice.

"Well," Carol said as she tightened the knot on her towel. "I guess we're doing this."

Carol glumly walked over towards and opened the window preparing to leap into action like never before. She looked back to her cat shaped pet and gave an under-enthused farewell, "See you later, buddy."

"Meow," Chewie remarked as she watched her master fly up into the sky wearing nothing but a towel deeply missing her ridiculous swimsuit costume.

Chewie meanwhile remained in the apartment. She stood up suddenly and began to gag like she was about to cough up a hairball. Instead, she spat out a cardboard box several times his size with the word 'clothes' written on its side. The box crashed onto the ground spilling out its contents including a red and blue supersuit.
