Chapter 11 by LordScissorsXIII LordScissorsXIII

This Was My Last Game Double Up. Promise

The Lady Ex

Half the pile done, half to go. Lydia stare at the pile of paperwork sitting on the desk in front of her. The greatest problem with being an intern is that everyone pushes all their extra work onto you.

Looking around the office she dismayed to see that she was the only one still there. Of course everyone has already gone home instead of helping the new person finish the work that some of them should have been doing in the first place.

Turning back to the pile of paperwork Lydia started working on the next paper. _No point complaining about it. Time spent complaining is time you could be working. _Buckling down she managed to work for about 10 minutes before her focus started to wane again.

Maybe I haven't been getting enough sleep. Between college and all the overtime I'm doing here I have had very little free time lately.

Mind wandering she glanced over at her computer. Maybe I could just for a little bit? No one is around and there aren't any cameras facing my deck.

Lightly slapping herself on the cheeks Lydia snapped herself out of that train of thought. What am I thinking? That is a completely inappropriate thing to even consider doing at work.

I just have to power through this for a bit longer. If I keep working hard now I'll graduate from college soon enough. Then I can either move up in this company or use my experience to get hired at another one. Years from now when I'm an executive all this hard work will have paid off.

Lydia's mental pep talk over she turned back to the paperwork and immediately let out a massive yawn. _Glad no one was around to see that. I think I need some coffee before I continue. _Rising from her desk she made her way to the break room. Seeing as only her and the janitor were around at this time she didn't even question the fact that the break room was dark as she entered.

Unprepared for a throne to suddenly be in front of her Lydia tripped falling right into Bruce's lap. Dazed she looked up to see who had just collapsed into. “Bruce?”

“Hey. We haven't started yet.” Sally admonished from next to the throne. “You don't get any points for flirting with him yet.”

Standing up Lydia looked around taking in the odd sites around her. Bruce in a throne? Female video game characters lined up in a row?

“Stop daydreaming and look into the mirror so we can get on with the show.” Sally was getting impatient. These intros are taking way too long. These girls need to hurry up so we can get to the best part of the show.

Seeing the mirror standing next to her Lydia removed the sunglasses she realized she was now wearing. Looking back at her was a character she used to love but hadn't played any of her games in years. Lady.

Growing impatient Sally didn't even say anything this time when she pressed the button to start Lydia's intro.

“My name is Lydia Hill and I'm 21 years old. I both attend college and work as an intern at a fairly prominent company. I know Bruce because we dated for several years in high school but we broke up after graduation. I used to play games a lot growing up but no longer have time for such activities.”

Bruce went wide eyed when Lydia's name was mentioned. This dream has taken an interesting twist.

And now I look like a video game character from my youth. Lydia mused. I must have been more tired than I thought if I've fallen asleep at my desk. Hopefully I wake up before anyone finds me.

“Stop standing around and get to your seat.” Sally commanded. “Moving on. Next.”

If Anyone Tells Me Lady is an Obscure Character I'm Questioning My Reality
