The Hootians

The Hootians are a race of eldritch extraterrestrial beings who are basically the aliens from 'The Fourth Kind'. Not much is known about them aside from the fact that they're incredibly ancient, going all the way back to the fourth cosmic age, making them one of the first intelligent lifeforms. They've also taken an interest in humanity, watching us through the eyes of their spies - what we call "owls" - while also dabbling in the occasional abduction and "demonic possession".

(It's not just the mortal realm, Athena having an owl as a pet means that they've infiltrated the godspace as well)

As of right now their goals are completely beyond our understanding and they don't really seem to be in any hurry. But what is for certain however, is that whatever they're planning, it can't be anything good...
