And what is the last thing Kaylen needs to round out his party?

The Final Pick, a Healer - 2C-EW

Chapter 2 – Putting the Team Together (continued)

Kaylen took a moment to himself before turning back to Tyrell, needing only one more candidate to round out his team.

The guild master got straight to the point, “Who do you need next? Got any other roles you need filled, or are you good with a five man team?”

“Just one more.” Kaylen confirmed “I want a support unit or healer. I have some healing magic myself, but I have a lot of other capabilities that would be wasted if I’m **** to focus on healing.”

“That’s a good unit to have.” Master Norrison replied. “And certainly one that will round out your existing roster. Unfortunately dedicated healers are just as rare as dedicated combat mages.”

“I know.” Kaylen agreed. “Someone who can provide logistical support during battle and medical expertise in between should work as well. Ideally, I’d like someone who is able to fight from a distance, so that they don’t get stuck in melee when they might be needed elsewhere, though that isn’t a strict requirement.”

Kaylen had observed that most the waiting candidates had started to disperse when he had explained what he was looking for in his final candidate, but Tyrell still checked with them before turning back to Kaylen. “Doesn’t appear there are any healers here.” He began. “We’ll have to go to where the candidates might be found then, since they haven’t come to us. You can ask your team if they’d like to accompany us, or meet up with you later.”

Kaylen nodded, and went to speak with his already recruited teammates. “Master Norrison and I are going to find a healer to fill out the final position on the team.” He explained. “What would the four of you like to do? You could accompany us, or we could meet up somewhere else, what do you say?”

They talked among themselves for a moment, but Kaylen could see some immediate tension between the two elf-born candidates he’d chosen, and felt he needed to cut any possible conflict off before it had a chance to grow, so he stepped a little closer and asked, “Is there going to be an issue between you two?” Gesturing between them.

They both looked momentarily startled, glancing between Kaylen and each other before the elf archer replied, “No issue.”

“We’ll be fine.” The half-elf was quick to agree.

A brief amount of additional discussion occurred before Kaylen’s sister turned back to advise him, “We’ll meet up with you later, I’m sure we all have equipment to grab before we head out. Did you have some place in mind to meet?”

“Why don’t we meet back here? I’ll need to procure a contract, afterall. And we can go from here to the market district since I’m sure we’ll need some supplies beyond our travel equipment.”

“Might be better to just meet at the market.” Lyria advised. “You don’t need us with you to choose a contract.”

“Very well.” Kaylen agreed.

Where will Kaylen go to find his healer?
