The Daughter Leaves the Nest

You had woken up early, made breakfast and tea, and were ready for the day. Now there was only one thing left to do. “Stacy, it’s time to get up!” To wake up that lazy daughter of yours.

“I’ll be down in a bit Mom!” You can hear Stacy stomping around loudly in the other room as she gets ready.

“Don’t take too long, your breakfast will get cold.” Not that you were in a rush or anything. You remember starting your own Pokemon Journey when you were her age. Ah, memories. Taking a sip of tea, you think back on your year of travels. Even if your travels were cut short, you still didn’t regret the experience. You just hope that Stacy’s journey will last longer than yours.

Hearing the sound of steps getting closer, you turn your head just in time to see your daughter running down the hall into the kitchen. “Slow down Stacy, no need to rush.”

Your daughter doesn’t even slow down as she runs into the kitchen. “Sorry mom, but I’m in a hurry.” She stops just long enough to give you a quick hug. “I don’t want to be late.” With that your daughter runs past you towards the front door. “Love you!” And just like that Stacy runs out the door and is gone.

You knew that Stacy, along with a few other young aspiring Pokemon Trainers, were supposed to meet up with a representative from the Pokemon League this morning to get their official starter and a PokeGear. But she could have at least taken the pack you had made for her though.

“O’well…” No use crying over spilt MooMoo Milk. With a sigh, you finish your tea. “Well Mimi, you ready?” Mimi, your Mismagius, gives you a a large smile as she nods. “Well, no time like the present then.” With that you grab your own packed pack, leave a note for your daughter, walk to the front door, step outside (making sure to lock the door behind yourself), and take a moment to appreciate the beautiful morning.

“Well Mimi, where should we go first?” Pretty much every gym leader had been replaced, some of them twice, since you last tried the Gym Challenge. So you could head in any direction you wanted and rechallenge any of the gyms.

But maybe you should run a few last minute errands in town before leaving? “So many things to do.”
