Chapter 8 by Rowenar Rowenar

What happens next?

The DEO is suspicious...

Alex stared at the phone. Her mobile would have clattered to the floor on another Earth when her clothing had shredded itself; in her panic she’d forgotten it. That just left the landline.

The landline that was a fair distance from her hiding place. And that wasn’t cordless.

She braced herself, then sprang up and sprinted the short distance across the room. She tried to ignore the eyes on her, Sara’s particularly scanning her up and down, bending over the worktop. When she realised that was only hiding her front, and that her ass was facing everyone, she jumped up, panicking as she looked around.

She stood for a moment without covering herself, too distracted by the need to find a hiding place; Sara appreciatively eyed her tits, then coughed and looked away in an effort to make Alex more comfortable.

Eventually Alex picked a stool. She had to let go of the phone for a moment to pull it close and crouch behind it, then rapidly dial the DEO’s secure line, before she could crouch behind the stool.

It was pitifully inadequate as cover, but with Alex in a ball, her knees in front of her chest and back facing away, nothing too private was visible, beyond enough skin to make Alex blush deeper.

“Uh, yes, Agent Danvers,” she identified herself into the phone. “Tell J’onn I- uh, I’m not going to be able to come in.”

Kara squeaked.

“Kara too,” Alex continued quickly. “N-no, we’re fine, it’s a long story. Just… we’ll need a few days off. Everything should be fine soon. Or at least it had better be. Thanks. And tell Winn to give us a call when he’s in, could do with his assistance searching for something. Ok bye- Oh! And make sure he calls, please. Just… yeah. Bye!”

She hung up, before panting, staying where she was. The prospect of crossing the room again wasn’t a good one.

Sara shuffled around her chair. It wasn’t a great hiding place either, especially now Alex was closer to being on the same side of it as her. Flushing a little, Sara tried to find a middle ground between being exposed to her, and to everyone else.

Hopefully she wasn’t visible. She squirmed a little.

“Who’s Winn?” Amaya said.

“A friend,” Kara said. “Good with computers. If there are any records of the Spear of Destiny, or any way to trace it, he’ll be able to find them.”

That was something, Sara supposed.

She looked around the room. Alex, Kara, Amaya, and herself, all hiding, red-faced. They had an at least temporary goal, but all things considered that didn’t count for too much.

“So, uh, even if your friend comes through with the exact coordinates of the spear,” Sara said. “Has anyone given any thought to how we’re going to get out of here?”

There was a worried pause. Amaya’s eyes widened; Alex glanced to her sister.

“I can get it and be back in a second,” Kara said eventually. She whimpered slightly at the thought. “If I have to. No one would see, not if I’m fast enough.”

Don’t think about other aliens, advanced cameras, or-

“Could you carry us?” Sara said. “Uh, one at a time I’m guessing, assuming no one wants to get personal.”

“I-” Kara flushed. “If I had to. But if I could just pick up the spear, wouldn’t that be easy? For, uh, everyone?”

“If we can, sure,” Sara said, placatingly.

Alternatively they might only get a lead to follow. In which case…

They waited for Winn to call them, none of them feeling particularly comfortable in their state of exposure. They fidgeted as the minutes went by-

And then the door to Kara’s apartment was knocked down. Maybe half a dozen black-clad people burst in, guns raised.

Sara and Alex were the two immediately in their line of sight; Amaya ducked her head down, and Kara squeaked and used her superspeed to dart around a corner.

“What-” Alex began, getting up to run and then stumbling. She recognised the MO and outfits as belonging to a DEO squad, and her cheeks flamed at the fact her colleagues were seeing her like this. She scrambled up, managing to get to Kara’s kitchen island giving them only a glimpse of sideboob.

Sara had worse luck, taking the time to turn to see the source of the noise, showing them her tits for almost a whole second and shock ran through her, mind screaming at her to remind her of how very naked she was, before she reacted.

“Freeze!” the lead agent said. A warning shot whistled past Sara’s head and she froze there, half-turned as she prepared to vault over the sofa, both her boobs and ass visible depending on where exactly the operative was.

“What are you doing?!” Alex said, voice hoarse from the humiliation as she peeked over the island.

There was a moment of silence.

“Agent Danvers?” one said. “Your call, you sounded like you were, uh, under duress.”

“Can I move now?!” Sara said. She flushed, almost shaking from being in the centre of the room.

“Uh-” the lead agent said.

“She’s a friend,” Alex said.

“I… guess so,” the agent said.

Exhaling in relief, Sara finished her movement, giving the agents a last flash of her tones ass as she vaulted over the sofa to hide.

The silence dragged on. When Sara peeked over the back of the sofa, still red from how she’d had to stop like that, she saw the agents slowly breaking formation. None moved further into the apartment thankfully, though none left.

Alex was still blushing furiously, the island’s thin side barely offering her any cover.

“Dismissed!” Alex finally managed to say. “No problem. Just… awkward situation. And it’s not what it looks like! It’s just, uh…”

Someone else strode into the apartment. Alex’s eyes went wide and she pulled back, making sure absolutely none of her body slipped out. Something when she poked her head around the side of the island a boob could be visible.

“J’onn,” Alex said, even more breathless. “It’s all fine. I promise.”

“When you announce that you and Supergirl aren’t coming in, and ask for technical support, it sounds like ****,” J’onn said. “To say nothing of the… unorthodox nature of your call. I’ve never known you to cancel without coming in first.”

“Extenuating circumstances,” Alex said, quickly.

There was a pause; Sara felt this ‘Jo’nn’s eyes sweep over her, and Amaya.

“So I see,” he said.

“Not like that,” Alex said, voice high. “It’s- uh- can you at least send everyone out? This is awkward enough as it is.”

“Not until I know that you’re safe,” J’onn said. “What is going on here, Agent Danvers?”

Alex’s cheeks flamed.

Well someone needs to explain the situation…
