The Council

Shepard had set up an emergency meeting with the Council the moment she arrived st the Citadel. “Commander Shepard, it’s been awhile,” Tevos said with a warm smile. “What was so urgent that you had to meet with us?”

Shepard looked tired and distraught as she said. “Our enemies infiltrated the Normandy. I already gave details about what happened, but in case you haven’t caught up to speed, the Cerberus Officer Maya Brooks returned and managed to replace many of my friends and loved ones with clones. These clones were quite the convincing copy. I have successfully rescued the real people, but I need your help to ensure this doesn’t happen again.”

“This is quite serious, Shepard,” Sparatus said. “How could you have possibly let such an oversight happen?”

Shepard gritted her teeth. “With all due respect, Sparatus, I just saw the love of my life get tortured and hurt while I was helpless to do anything. I am no mood for your snide comments,” she said. “The point is that it happened and must be prevented from happening again. Surely there are measures that we can put in place.”

“Do you know what happened to this Brooks person?” Valern asked. “If detained, we may be able to question her process. When you fought with us before you successfully eliminated Cerberus, didn’t you also mention a clone of yours revealing itself at one point?”

Shepard nodded. “She was an exact match and was able to briefly infiltrate my Spectre biometrics and change them. I was locked out of all access points until I managed to stop her. The clones have been stopped, but that doesn’t change what happened.”

“Isn’t there another matter?” Sparatus said. “I received a rather curious contract. A contract with your name on it. It claims that you must be naked and a sex **** to Liara, Ashley, and Miranda. This absurdity is not appreciated as a Spectre. Nonetheless it is law.”

Shepard glared at Sparatus. “That contract was a fake made by the Cerberus Operator Maya Brooks! You can’t possibly expect me to follow it.”

Sparatus seemed to smile. “I’m afraid that a contract is a contract and there is no evidence that this Brooks person had anything to do with the contract. The way I see it, you either obey the contract or lose your Spectre status permanently.”

Shepard’s eyes widened. “Tevos, Valern, hear me out! This contract was against my will and were made by the enemies!”

Tevos looked sympathetic and Valern looked conflicted, but no one said anything in Shepard’s defense.
