A difficult compromise

“I’m sorry, Shepard,” Tevos said. “Our hands are tied because the contract was made using Spectre authority. Even if it was not actually a Spectre who made the contract, we cannot just undo the fact that a contract exists and says that you have to be permanently nude. However, we can amend the contract with the knowledge that it was not consensual and was likely fraudulent. Unfortunately, without clear evidence of this fraud, we have no ability to override the Spectre authorization on the contract.”

“So what are my options?” Shepard asked.

“You can change who the contract is for. We would be able to amend the contract to change who is the **** and who is the **** owner but we would need all parties to be available to give their approval. Since it’s Ashley, Liara, and Miranda on the contract, they would be the ones who would be able to approve the transfer and amendments,” Tevos said. “The other option would be to change what the contract itself says. There are some things that are unable to be changed like the nudity clause, however, the length can be amended as that is a very common decision.”

“And what if I were to enter in a completely new party?” Shepard said. “Someone not mentioned in the contract? Would that be possible?”

“Under normal circumstances, no, but… we can with Spectre authority,” Tevos said.

“Then use my authority,” Shepard said.

“Unfortunately, we cannot,” Tevos said. “Since that is one of the aspects of the contract, we would have to have authority from another Spectre. Which means we would have to wait for your friends to recover before we can discuss any changes to the contract.”

“Fine,” Shepard said.

“Until then, you must obey the rules mentioned,” Tevos said. “Including the nudity clause.”

Shepard nodded. “Alright, thank you, councilor. I’ll arrange to have a meeting as soon as my friends are fully recovered.”

Shepard turned to leave but Sparatus cleared his throat. “Commander,”

Shepard turned back and then looked down. She realized what Sparatus wanted.

Shepard sighed. She didn’t have much of a choice as she slowly took her clothes off and headed for the elevator. She could feel the eyes on her as she left completely naked.
