The Confrontation

The idyllic life continued for another six months. They were loading groceries into the minivan from the grocery store when the attack came. Antoine was returning the cart, when Elizabeth was bitchslapped. She saw stars, and then she saw a stout, heavyset Black woman glaring down at her.

"Fucking cunt," she spat at Elizabeth. "That man was mine!"

"What are you talking about?" Elizabeth said, rubbing her cheek. "I'm his wife!"

"I was his first wife, bitch," the woman said. "And I don't know how his child support is being paid -- but it isn't right, he owes me more than just money!" She spat down at Elizabeth, her cheek still flaming red. Just then, Antoine returned, hauling his ex-wife aside.

"LaDonna, this is enough harrassment! Get the fuck out of here, I'm living up to what was promised, I never want to see your sorry ass again!"

Faced with Antoine's fury, LaDonna retreated, getting into the passenger seat of a car driven by a young black man that resembled Antoine. Antoine sighed.

"That ... was my ex-wife LaDonna and my first son, Lamont." The two flipped them off as they drove off, leaving Antoine and his pregnant wife to recover.
