The Big Boss

The next day, Kelvin showed up. Elizabeth was slightly disappointed. She'd yet to have Tank.

"The boss wants to see you," he said simply. Dick and Johnson showed up, fitting a blindfold onto Elizabeth.

"No, wait, please --" Elizabeth cried out. Kelvin leaned forward, silencing her with a kiss.

"It's okay," Kelvin whispered.

She was taken at least a couple of towns away. When her blindfold was taken off, she was in an empty warehouse. Across from her was a 6'8 Black man, his body chiseled, his face scarred.

"You can call me Jabo," he said simply.

"Okay ... Jabo ... why am I here?" Elizabeth said. She wasn't bound, but with Dick and Johnson standing on either side of her, in a strange town, she might as well be.

"I wanted to let you know, we've done what we can for D-Train," Jabo said. "He's a cog in our organization. Not an especially bright cog, or an especially skilled cog, but he has his uses. But there are other organizations in the State that are seeking to make sure he gets a very long term. I'm not sure where we'll end up."

"Okay," Elizabeth said. She was guessing he was talking bribes.

"But you've been a good asset yourself. You'd make a good trophy, you know. You could be on my arm, the boss's girl. My head girl." Elizabeth shivered.

"I'll ... I'll consider it, Sir."
