_There's no harm in asking _Lydia decided. If I don't like the repayment system then I just won't take the loan. Lydia stopped one of the moogles as it floated by. “Excuse me. I had a question about the loan system.”

“Happy to help, kupo. What do you need to know?”

“I was just wondering how it worked. If I take a loan, what's the repayment system for it?”

“An excellent question, kupo. When it comes to repaying loans to the bank there is no set due date. You can repay whenever you want and in whatever increments you want, kupo. But at the end of a round if you have an outstanding debt to the bank you will receive a punishment transformation for every increment of 3000 you owe. So if you owe 400 you will receive one transformation, kupo. If you owe 3100 you will receive two and so on. Any other questions, kupo?”

“No that will be all, thank you for your help.” Nope. That's a hard pass from me Lydia thought as she exited the bank. I'd rather try to earn the BP myself if I'm running the danger of a punishment transformation. Maybe Nana has another job for me or I could try asking the bear if he has any quests but even if he's not the real Monokuma he still makes me nervous.

“Psst.” Lydia stopped as she heard an odd sound. “Psst.” There it is again. Looking around she saw a man covered head to toe in dark clothing standing in the alley between two shops. Is that who I think it is?

“Over here, stranger” he said in his iconic gruff voice. Ducking further into the alley Lydia wondered if she should follow him. In reality one should never follow a shady looking man into a dark alley alone but given the context of this show I'll make an exception. Lydia followed him into the alley where he stood at a table with various goods laid out on it. “Got a selection of good things on sale stranger” he said gesturing to the table.

Lydia looked over the table. There was a large variety of goods laid out on it. Clothes, sex toys, even a GameBoy. “So I take it your not a normal shop, are you?”

“Right you are stranger. I sell a wide variety of goods not limited to any one type like the normal stores and I'm always moving. You're very lucky to be the first to run into me. Now, what are you buying?”

“Well there are some very nice things here but nothing that helps me currently. I'm trying to save up enough BP to level up another contestant's transformation so spending isn't in my current budget.”

“Now don't go writing me off yet stranger. I also buy things you know. If you have something of value to sell I'll buy it for a fair price. How much BP do you need?”

“I need 1500 so unless you want to buy a pair of handcuffs that I can't remove I don't have anything to sell.”

“Everyone's always got something they can sell. Tell you what. I'll cut you a deal stranger. Your goal is to level up someone's transformation, right? Fair is fair I say. If you let me level up one of your transformations, then I'll give you 2000 BP to put towards your goal. How about that deal?

Sylvia sat pondering her dilemma. I could take advantage of her bet transformation but is that too mean? I want to help her but she's making it so difficult.

As she stared at the screens hoping they would reveal the answer to her she noticed something odd. Lydia's at 0 VP? She was just at 9 a few minutes ago. What happened? No, don't get distracted. Lydia is not the problem right now. Jenny is.

“Whoever wins the competition can wish for anything they want” Jessica said excitedly. “How could she fail to mention an important detail like that?”

“Not quite anything” Candy said still reading. “Apparently we can't with to undo our transformations, kill someone, or leave the harem. So we're still stuck like this no matter what.”

“Yeah but still a wish for anything makes all of this a lot more worth it. Just think of the possibilities.”

“It certainly does up my motivation to try a lot harder. Honestly my only goal before now was to avoid going into the negatives.”

“Same” Jessica agreed. “I wonder how many points the challenges are worth. Do you think it's possible to hit 100 just by winning them?”

Candy looked up in thought. “I don't know. Let's keep reading. Maybe it will tell us the point scale for the challenges somewhere in here.”
