Chapter 14 by AnchorPillar AnchorPillar

What are you (probably) turning into?

That’s more complicated than you’d expect.

Turning to the page you find a massive line graph arranged with the most likely at top. Skimming a few pages you find the lines simply becoming marked “edge case” or “ required assumption” with only the first two pages having actual chances represented at all. But that just adds to your frustration when you realize you have no idea what they mean as just the first three options add up to over 130%. Even better is the asterisk next to all three of them showing they’re all within margin of error for each other. You show Miss MacKenna the page.

“Wow...I haven’t seen a CAMP this confused since mine.” She mutters, accidentally hitting you with a little bit of her udder. “Well I know the basics of each of these, I can tell the class about them, you just tell us the first three.”

“Ok...” you take a deep breath. Fully aware that if these displease Jess she’ll just retcon the entire world to make these different.

“So first one is Type-K Inugami”

“Inugami are anthropomorphic dogs with shapeshifting to hide most of their doggy body, except their many teets/breasts which they must bind themselves. However if you ever see an unkempt Inugami call supernatural protection immediately, as someone has likely taken advantage of their...hierarchical world view. Type-K are noteworthy for their marshal arts prowess, love of physical pleasure, and competitive nature.”

The catgirl to your right made a noise somewhere between a cry and a sigh.

“Second is a Type-H Akabeko.” Miss MacKenna had a wry smile at this one.

“Akabeko are cow people, roughly analogous to the Bo Rua, an example of which is speaking right now. Though udder growth is uncertain for a Type-H, lactation and the milk’s properties are. The milk will have a healing effect and unless she is pregnant be indistinguishable from cows milk. One big difference between the Akabeko and the Bo Rua is that while the Bo Rua will only have their hair or fur turn red, Akabeko can turn completely red.”

“Third a Type-B Kitsune.”

“Kitsune, mischievous shapeshifter fox spirits and the second most magical creature out of Asia, second only to the full blown White Tiger flavors. Type-B is a catch all actually, it basically means we know you’re not gonna have to go on four legs. But other than that Kitsune actively enjoy ruining classification efforts, but get your homework in on time and you’d be fine with me, got that?” The class had a collective giggle at that.

“Now that formalities are out of the way, everyone turn you books to page 209 and let us continue from yesterday...”

Your phone buzzes with a text from Jess.

What does it say? Is Jess happy?
