That's Not How It Works
Professor Ellen Musslemen monitored her Intro to Psychology class as they took their mid-term exam.
She was the youngest female professor on campus, and some people still confused her for a student, so she acted as strict and professional as possible. One thing she hated was how one of her male students, Jake Watson was smirking at her today, but she ignored him.
As the students finished, they turned in their blue essay booklets and left. Jake was the last to finish. He turned in his booklet. "Dr. Musslemen, I'd love to pick your brain about your last lecture on trigger phrases and subliminal messaging. I'm not sure I understand it, and I think you may be wrong on some of it."
"Wrong?" thought Ellen. "Punk kid." "Sure, come with me. I have office hours now."
Ellen led Jake into her office. She put the stack of booklets down and sat at her desk, and Jake sat in one of the two chairs in front of it.
Elle leaned forward, "So, what did I get wrong?"
Jake smiled and twisted a ring on his finger. There was a large amber colored faceted gem on it, and it caught the light in a strange way.
Ellen blinked a few times.
"Everything OK, Professor?" asked Jake.
"Yeah, I just seemed to zone out a bit. Again, what did I get wrong?"
