Thanks For Reading!

As the title says, thanks for reading! Before I start ranting, let me just say I will be writing another story. This one will not be on Chyoa though. It won't contain any sexual content. It will be on another site, not sure which though. I've narrowed it down to two that I'll be testing out soon. The story will start soon too, no longer than a week after this goes public.

Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about writing The New Player! When I first started writing this, it was on a whim. It started with a What if? thought. I was reading The Gamer on this site and kept thinking about different scenarios. Once I finished that path, I decided to write an alternative. So in the beginning I was testing around with a bunch of different ideas. I didn't have any clear goal in mind at first, just wanted to write. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed it though. After a while, I started thinking of what I wanted this story to be. At first, when I created the Golden Devil, I didn't plan on having other Devils appear. I was going to have him be the antagonist. But as time went on, I created the other Devils and Kurdes. It was a blast writing the various chapters where they battled. I'm not gonna lie, I've been late to multiple appointments due to writing. I'd start writing, planning on stopping in thirty minutes, before seeing it's been an hour. I'm excited to start the next story, I've been thinking about it nearly nonstop.

Now onto the bad times writing this. There were times during my writing when I'd plan something out and not write it. Like Asami, I had planned to write something about her past. Ideally, I had wanted to write out a scenario where Eric raided the Katorg Guilds Headquarters. He'd discover how Asami was raised and maybe even a friend of hers from there. But it slipped my mind as I wrote about other stuff. By the time I remembered it was too late. The same thing happened with Ramia. I wanted to have Eric take her back to her Elven village to reunite with her parents. There he'd discover how the other Elves treated her and how she got the Failure Title. It again slipped my mind as I wrote the battle after he awakened his Mythos side. There were other times when I'd add something that I planned to do something with, but then forget what I had planned. Like Verona's bet with their duel in Chapter 422. I remember having something in mind for what Eric would want. But I forgot what it was when I wrote her asking about it. But the worst thing I added on a whim, was Ayashi. She was a nightmare to figure out. As I developed her character, I couldn't figure out what to do with her. So I decided to make her his enemy. I didn't want to just have Kurdes, whose goal was to kill humanity. I felt that was too simple, so I wanted to create a complex character. And boy was she complex. It took me weeks to figure out a way to deal with her that I liked. I won't be making that mistake again.

Now let's talk about the next story I'm writing. First of all, let me say it'll be much more thought out. I've also gotten a whiteboard so I can write down anything I have planned. So more more forgetting to write important character events! Anyway, let's talk about the plot! It's going to be set in a fantasy world. The protagonist will be a Dragonkin who's suffering from amnesia. He'll wake up in a forest and meet an Elf. She'll be traveling through the forest to the nearby town. They'll register as adventurers and take on quests. They'll meet various people and visit various places. Eventually, they'll learn about the Dragonkin's past, and the duties he's forgotten about. Again, as I said earlier, this story will be out in a soon-ish. I will create a new chapter branching from this with the link. I hope you all enjoyed The New Player!
