The last thing you want is for the first person who helped you and provided much needed knowledge to lose her trust on the first day.

You are stuck in an unknown land, with dangers that could very much be the cause of your second demise. Thus it's only logical for you to keep whatever assistance you have safe and happy.

"Thank you." You said calmly earning you a smile from Maribel.

Such a simple sentence but it seems she understood what it means. Her body tense less with your assuring words and you can't help to feel bad for her, this lady definitely have a reason why she's helping you, yet despite all that she's cautious of you.

Sure the one before you must be a massive asshole and if God didn't already send his butt to hell you or somebody who knows how to fight would have done it. And now this lady is acting that way because of that or probably because of the way you look at her, her figure is slim, petite but very much alluring in its own way, her green lush hair gives off a sight you know men like yourself find attractive.

Still you barely know about anything about her yet she knows some details about you and more importantly about this new world your sent it. This was no way planned by your or anyone else but it sure is a lot more pleasant than being in an endless void.

You take a seat in a nearby table looking at the busy street outside. Signing to yourself it's going to be a long time before you get used to this and even longer to find the end. But hey deep inside yourself is a burning desire for adventure and life, was it the JRPG you got addicted to back in your childhood or those massive online role playing games you put all available time you have in them, whichever reasons you feel you want to continue. And you feel a smile creeping out because of it.

"Ummm.... Sir are you ok? Are you sick? I'm a healer back in my village.. I'm not that good but...." Her sweet innocent voice brought you back to reality or more accurately this new reality your now in.

Her words spark interest in you and since she said she's willing to help maybe be beneficial for both of you to know more about each other.

"No... No I'm fine I just have a lot of things on my mind." You paused a bit as you view the outside of the window, seeing a dwarf carry a hammer bigger than him, another elf with dark skin and a lot taller than Mary and then a mixture of man and wolf who seems laughing as she chat with presumably her friends.

"You haven't told me about you aside from the fact your clan sent you to guide me, how about you, you told me your a healer, so... Did you volunteer or is there some other reason?" Those words made Mary looked down, shame and sadness wash over her face as her eyes water a little bit.

"I'm sorry maybe that's too personal." That reaction wasn't the one you're expecting, you wave your hands in a futile manner of apology. Even so you saw Mary swipe the tears of her face while the elf looked at you back.

"It's ok you just brings back memories, memories I want to forget but I did say I'll help you anyway I can and it would be rude of me not to answer honestly so here it is..."

You feel your chest tighten, followed by your breathing becomes restless by the second it's clear the anxiety within starts to show.

"It's true I'm a healer, but not a very good one, most elves practice archery and nature magic but I can't reach the level of others in my village, I tried so much, I practiced endlessly but in the end my magic is mediocre at best, still my parents supported me, they never give up on their only daughter who failed to be the child they can be proud of... and I can't even heal a broken bone properly.."

Sniffs and tears finally came out as she whimper and you too can't help to feel the shame and regret she have been enduring.

"My former friends turn on me calling me useless and pathetic, but I endured it because I believe one day I'll be the woman my family would be proud of but that never came, I thought I was destined for a life of failure until one day the seer and oracle in my village saw a vision, that another traveler would arrive, but what comes next no one knows, he or she can bring great fortune and stop a calamity or repeat the same mistake the previous one did."

Putting your hands on your chin you begin to understand more of what's on.

"No one volunteered you see, afraid that if our God made a mistake like before the one who will be the first of their many victims is the guide, then as the people are talking who to send, will it be their greatest warrior, their best archer or most intelligent mage, no they choose to send the one who failed most in life, who else but the one who have the least value, the most expendable the council said, they say that if I haven't returned or sent a message to my parents for a while they will conclude that the traveller is a bad one, my parents was livid, they protest loudly but in the end the voice of the majority wins, as it always does... I'm so afraid, if I die what would happen to my parents? If I failed.. the village might turn on them or worse, and... And..."

Mary couldn't hold it any longer letting loose her tears from all the suppressed emotions bursting out. There you feel sympathy for her, as a Gamer you don't have the best grades nor the best jobs but you do try to make sure you give life the best you have. Many ridicule your choice of life and some straight up insulted it. Maybe it's not the same as Mary's situation but it's similar in its own way.

Taking action you lean forward putting your two arms around your her pressing Mary's body to yours.

"I'm sorry to hear that, I didn't know you hold so much burden, someone as kind as yourself should have to carry such responsibility worse pushed upon by it." You said to her as you rub her back trying to calm the crying elf.

Her teary eyes widen at the sudden action but she did not resist only swiping once again her tears that now start to drip to your clothes in the embrace.

"Thank you sir, I was afraid that I'll fail once again or worse you might do all sorts of depravity on me but instead you helped me with my issues."

Sadly you only managed to help her to release them, no longer pent up, it's far from fixing but hey it's a start.

The two of you continue the hug until you remember that despite being petite and slim she is still a woman, her breast touched yours despite the fabric in between and her green lush hair gives off a sweet scent, even a little it feels very much alluring. Her smooth skin touching yours... Suddenly you felt your pants get tighter.

A gasp was heard before you feel Mary push you away, a deep crimson blush present in her face.

"You..r. Umm.. hard man parts touched my leg." She said in an innocent tone.

You blush as well cursing yourself from such a display, with a bow you apologize from the embarrassing display. She only given you a troubled smile, different from before, indicating that she seems to forgive you.

Fear exist on her expression but it seems to have lessen now. You saw her take the sheets of the bed blankets and placed it on the floor while taking a pillow soon after.

"Let's... go to sleep ....now... please... I'll show you more next...day." Her voice cracked as she spoke those words, embarrassed you just take what's she's offering and put your body in the crude makeshift bed without responding while your elf companion puts her tired body in the bed above.

Removing your boots and shirt you press your body, it feels more comfortable than you thought but it would have been better if you have pajamas or sleeping clothes and as you heard Mary turn in her bed thinking of the possibilities of the many task ahead of you with a sleeping clothes as your target to buy for her tomorrow.

But for now you rest your head in the bed excited for what the future will bring as slumber takes a hold of you.
