Chapter 5
by MissTaken
What do you do?
Text him.
No, you can't wait any longer than you already have. You can't risk Rick reading the text before you can explain it, because you're definitely not going to suck his dick. If you leave it up to him to respond first, he's liable to make an already awkward situation even worse. You're determined to save the both of you from that, so you start typing. You still can't believe that Janie did this.
"OMG, Rick, I'm so sorry! I didn't write that. My asshole sister think she's funny. Please tell me your wife didn't see it!"
Done. You've sent it. You think the subtle reminder that he's spoken for was a nice touch, reminiscent of the time he reminded you of that same fact years ago. There's nothing to do now but wait, but what are you even waiting for, exactly? What were you so worried about? Your sister sucks more than ever, but she was right. She sent the text, not you, so it's not a big deal. Rick's feelings might be hurt, but he's not the type of guy that would try to make you feel guilty about it. Your correspondence may suffer for it, but that's probably for the best. You've been leading him on, you realize, and that needs to stop.
For the first time in hours, or maybe even days, you feel unburdened, like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. Still, Janie got under your skin like only she can, and you need a drink. It's five o'clock somewhere, right?
What are you having?
