When morning comes around, what's Angel Five's status?
Tex is accidentally in total control
After a restful night, you woke up in your new Angel Seven-sized form, realizing you've so far had two nights in two new bodies, and both had given you better sleep than you'd had in quite a while. Yawning, you ran your hands along your borrowed form briefly, just as a reminder of who you currently were. "Morning," you said to yourself, knowing Seven was listening.
"Good morning!" chimed Seven, taking a deep inhale through the nose. Even though you had plenty of control over the whole body this time you hadn't fully usurped control, and Angel Seven still could easily speak of her own volition and such when you weren't pushing her to do otherwise. "This is strangely cozy, such a restful night. Sometimes my nights can be a little restless or my dreams aren't pleasant, but this felt like the best sleep I'd had in a very long time. Is that from the nanites?"
You shrugged, sitting up. "I wish I knew, but I'm not the expert. Tex might know, but I still have a lot of questions for Tex that come before that one." Stepping to the closet, you realized the clothes in this bedroom belonged to you, and not anything better suited for an Angel's body. You picked up her shirt from last night, putting it on, deciding that would be sufficient until you could get into the other room and pick out a proper outfit for the day.
But first, breakfast. You slowly stepped out of your room, strolling down the hallway to the kitchen, but stopped when you saw Angel Five standing in the middle of the room, looking down at herself in her underwear. She didn't just look like her usual self, though... glowing orange patterns flowed over her arms and legs, with designs like leaves and flowers across her skin and torso and chest, up to her neck.
"...A-Five?" you asked quietly, suddenly very concerned by this unusual sight.
She looked at you, her eyes slightly wider than normal--and her irises colored a bright orange--and the glowing briefly vanished. "It appears I may have miscalculated," Angel Five said, with a vocal pattern that reminded you of somebody else.
"Wait, Tex? Is that you?"
Angel Five, or really, Tex, nodded, her blonde strands of hair bouncing with her slightly exaggerated movements. "The Endo construction and improvements to the Angel interior were a success, as was bodily integration, I easily connected with most of Angel Five's soft tissue and better bound it to her internal hardware. However, I overcompensated when I entered her brain, I think. The topology of a human brain and my structure isn't analogous, so I created some redundancies to use as transfer layers, but it seems they're suppressing the original neural activity."
You crossed your arms, squinting at the other girl. "I'll need a simpler explanation than that."
"I've overridden Angel Five's mind by accident." Still slightly wide-eyed, Tex sat her new body down on the armrest of the couch. "I guarantee that she's fine, think of my presence in her mind as more a cushion than anything else, her neurons and synaptic pathways are undamaged and healthy, just the electrical signals are suppressed. One might say she is in an idle state, moreso than even Angel Seven had been yesterday."
You stepped closer, taking a better look at Angel Five's body to confirm that she's not hurt in any other way. As much as you wanted to trust Tex, hearing that a gelatinous being had taken over her body was hard to swallow! ...Well, maybe not too hard, you'd done so yourself yesterday. "Okay, so she's unharmed, can you undo this and try again to get a better mix of your minds?"
"I could," Tex said with a nod, looking at you as she bit her lip. "But... could I not, for one day? I've quickly come to understand why my predecessor enjoys being in organic matter, though I've yet to really experience anything. Breakfast, for example, sounds fascinating as I only absorb nutrients without any need for flavor." Tex grabbed your hand with her own, almost pleading. "Please. It will take some time to undo things, likely another night's worth of effort, and I would like to gain some knowledge while at the same time providing some direct assistance in this nanite case of yours."
You hesitated for a moment. While you didn't speak, Seven did. "I think Tex is being truthful that this is a miscalculation," you felt your lips say. "We have a long weekend, I say give her this and we'll all make the most of it for now."
Eventually, you nodded, stepping back to look at Tex more carefully as she inhabited your partner's form. "One day for now, then you'll pull out of her mind, and we'll observe any other attempts directly if Angel Five gives the go-ahead."
Tex smiled, clearly happy, but not as expressive as Angel Five might have been in a similar situation. "Thank you. I see you've decided to combine again, is this going to be a regular occurrence within the Angel program now? I do think there are significant advantages to a Rider and Angel combination that the Yabusa designers had perhaps not considered, so it's good you're taking advantage of a rather serendipitous outcome. Although, there's no need to provide you with an Exo-Angel frame this time, I will serve as your Angel today and you shall be my Rider."
Blinking in surprise, you stepped into the kitchen to search for some eggs. "We're going out today? The Sargeant gave us time off to make sure Angel Seven stayed okay, Tex."
This time, Tex blinked her new orange eyes, watching as you prepped food for breakfast. "At the moment, she is at a maximum value of 'okay'. No health abnormalities that I can detect, and your presence within her stabilizes her greatly since your connection is highly unlikely to be severed this way. I would assess that you would be capable of any regular activity today."
You stirred up the eggs in a bowl to prepare for scrambling them, as Tex locked her eyes on the food, practically salivating at the thought of her first meal. "Well, we still don't need to help with the search for the other Riders, that's being handled by the other units."
"I'm aware, I don't mean that we continue the search for the Riders, unless they have some connection to the nanite infestations. I have no conclusive evidence either way, so I believe we should simply search for the nanites in question."
Adding the eggs to a pan, as well some sausage patties and diced potatoes to fry up, you focused on the food, since you could tell that Angel Seven was also getting unbearably hungry, so you needed to hurry along the process so you didn't let your new body starve. "I guess we could follow up on a lead, if you have any--but nothing serious, no badges or police interrogations, if Sarge finds out we're snooping around he's gonna have a lot of questions that I don't want to deal with, yeah?"
"Of course." Tex sniffed the air, clenching her fists in anticipation as she moved to a seat at the dining table, knowing your quick work with the food was nearly complete. "I suggest that we visit the Hideki facility, and talk to my predecessor, Lucas. Or, Ivy as she is more commonly known these days. Based on what Angel Seven said yesterday, where something was poured on her, someone said 'wrong one', and then another substance was poured on her, my belief is that the substances were in fact two different forms of nanites. Given that I am certain that Hideki Labs is responsible for one of the nanite structures present in Angel Seven upon our arrival, it would be logical to understand who might have access to these nanites, or if they are aware of any that have gone missing."
You dished up everything from the stove to two plates, along with some orange juice to top things off. You set down the plate and took a seat, but you didn't reach for your fork yet, thinking over Tex's reasoning for a moment and weighing whether you should yet again agree with the synthetic being. It almost felt like Tex was doing your job for you...
Of course, it was hard to be suspicious that Tex was actually a bad actor in this scenario, looking at how she practically inhaled the meal with Angel Five's mouth, shoveling in eggs and sausage and potatoes unceremoniously, but seemingly savoring in the sensations of flavor the whole time. She felt genuine in her wish to help, beyond any other motive you could conceive.
Tex's last bite of breakfast arrived before you'd taken your first, and she stood up from the table, a goofy grin on her face. "That was wonderful! I look forward to experiencing a day filled with these sensations that Angel Five's body could provide!" With a quick step to you, she leans down to suddenly kiss you right on the lips! It was a gentle, but clearly purposeful kiss filled with gratitude that cemented the idea in you that Tex was on your side.
"Thank you," Tex said quietly, pulling back to look you in the eyes. Your mouth hung open a little as you looked at her. "...for the meal. It was delicious. You are a fantastic cook. Whenever you are ready to venture out, I also will be." Tex turned and stepped away from you, her hips swaying in a delightful rhythm clad in panties, before more clothes seem to just grow around her, forming into another riding jacket and jeans, both with Tex's orange stripe along each side. She sat on the couch, looking out the window, already certain that you'd be making the trip to Hideki today. You finally scooped up some eggs to begin your breakfast.
"Well, at least this is an opportunity for you to dress me up in something really nice," Angel Seven said. "Oh, and some Rider gear..!"
