Tell Sophia about your implant

You clear your throat. "Actually I don't think it's stupid." Sophia quickly looks back at you as you continue. "I also couldn't stop thinking about it after you brought it up. It seemed so... exciting?" You take a swig. You only got the damn thing this morning, are you already going to tell someone? Your friend pipes up. "I knew it! I knew I wasn't the only one thinking about it. Ha, it's not like my shy Alex to share his feelings like that." She gives you a playful shove. "Ahem, I just mean... yeah I agree. It's an exciting idea, but who would actually get it? I bet it costs thousands to get the procedure done."

"Actually..." you speak up.

Sophia looks at you in shock. "What? Do you know how much it costs?"

"Well, no. You're probably right about the price. I assume" Her face saddens a bit. "But it's in testing right now! You can get it installed for free if you sign up as a tester."

"Wow. I didn't know people were already getting it. I thought it was going to be months before it was actually available."

Without thinking, you continue. "Yeah, and the procedure is actually pretty painless."

Looking at you suspiciously, Sophia asks, "How would you know that?"

Oops. "Um... well I actually got it. This morning." You smile sheepishly.

Her jaw drops. "No way! Tell me everything!" Emboldened by the ****, you describe the process to your friend. You're both already flushed from the drinks, but your cheeks get redder as you explain how you had to strip down, get waxed, and have the strange paste applied by a doctor. You look up to see Sophia blushing too. She whistles as you finish your story and pauses to take a drink, letting the silence hang briefly.

"So, does it work?" Her eyes pierce yours with a look you haven't seen on her before.

"Well, other than a quick trial run in the lab, I haven't really had a chance to... play with it." Your heartbeat quickens.
