Tell Dective Reynolds everything

You gulp. Maybe that clerk was right but you're in too far now. You tell the detective everything that happened to you since you arrived at campus. You spared some of the more graphic details but were otherwise very thorough, The detective seemed to be the opposite of thorough and only took a few notes very early on.

You finally stop and feel a weight lifted off of your shoulders. Hopefully justice would finally be done.

"You done" the detective asks? You nod and she replies "you must be a giant idiot." She starts, and you feel all of your newfound confidence drain out of you. "Do you really think this whole department doesn't already know about this? The few that don't are widely incompetent or are just coasting for retirement."

You panic and get up to try to leave. She grabs your arm with an iron grip and says "Sit back down. I do have good news you dumfuck."

You pause and return to your seat, curious, but also scared. "You're fortunate that I'm the only officer here who does care. Male or female, freshmen or senior, no one deserves what happened to you."

She pauses to scribble something on her notepad and tears it off to hand it to you. She lowers her voice to almost a whisper "There's a larger investigation going on here, trying to take down this corrupt school. We need insiders like you, but we need you to be smarter than this. If you want to help, call this number and tell them you're in. They'll give you instructions from there. If you want out, then you can walk out that door and takes your chances out there or just give up and transfer out."

She gets up and hands you the report she had briefly scribbled on earlier. She briskly gets up and opens the door. She turns around and says loudly "I'm sorry to hear your bike got stolen, I'll file the report but usually students find them on their own around campus."

You look down and see she indeed wrote a report about a fictitious stolen bike. The door is open for you to leave.
