Chapter 108 by Funatic Funatic

Whose story will you follow for now?

Tarzana.

„Shit, Shit, Shit, Shit.“ Tarzana mumbles as she walks up and down in her room, gnawing on her thumbs fingernail. The room has a red carped floor, the walls looks crude compared to the usual elegant design of the bended City, however the chairs, the table and other furniture in the room are of supreme make and material, using dark oak to form them.

The reason for Tarzana’s anger is easy: She is losing control. Kay looks after her as she continues her heated stride. “I think you have run several kilometres by now.” The Incubus comments from his chair and throws a few raisins into his mouth. The things are almost impossible to get in these parts and Tarzana doesn’t even want to know who he had to fuck to get them.

“I would go for several hundred actually.” Aelana says. The redheaded succubus is sitting on her table and boringly playing with a pen. “It really is of no use, Mistress Tarzana.” Analea says, the white-haired succubus in her true form is reading the Book of Names, amused by the trivia some of her fellow demons have pinned to them.

“I guess so.” Tarzana gives and with a tired sigh falls into the chair Kay makes free for her. “When is he going to arrive again?” “In about ten minutes.” Kay says and moves behind her to massage her shoulders. A very welcome relaxation as she thinks about her guest.

The Bishop of Asha has arrived in the city and he is not pleased. First, because a low-ranking member such as Tarzana is representing the Cult, second because he does not agree with the consensus that Ulal is a saint. Until now, Tarzana managed to delicately handle both of these things and keep the Cult balanced but if a Bishop himself will start spewing that kind of poison around. A interreligious war is not out of question….

The door flies open. A man with bushy, angrily angered eyebrows, fitting eyes, a mustache and short, brown hair enters. He wears a robe covered in the Pentagram of Axes, the symbol of Asha.

Tarzana jumps, “You are to early.” She exclaims. “Yes. Problem?” Tarzana points at an empty chair. “Of course not.” The Bishop stomps over and falls into it. “Let’s cut right to the chase.” He says, “We have to kill Ulal.”

The twins narrow their eyes at him, Tarzana makes a calming gesture towards them before turning back to the bishop. “Why?” “WHY?” The Bishop hammers his fist on the table. “He destroyed one of Her Cruellest, our dear mistress, Demonlords. Asha is not pleased at all.” The Bishop continues hammering with every sentence. “No at all pleased. You hear me? And now some of our Cultists think he is A.” BANG. “FUCKING!” BANG. “SAINT!” A stack of papers falls over. “Heresy I tell you.”

Tarzana tries to calm him down. “Listen, blessed Bishop, the Cult has a firm hold in this city. We are close to becoming the major religion, members joining us daily. The presence of Ulal helps. Believe me I dislike this trend of worshipping him as well but overall it does more harm than good. The Cult grows stronger.”

“But not MY Cult.” The Bishop shouts. “We have to adapt, after all we want to transition into a church as well.” That only agitates the Bishop further. “Fuck being a church. We were fine in the wilderness sacrificing the unbelievers.” Tarzana closes her mouth, stares as the Bishop rises from the seat, and kicks it over, throwing a tantrum. “Fuck that Arch-Incubus, I only came here because he wanted us to.” He takes a book of the table and throws it across the room.

Breathing heavily he turns back to Tarzana. “What are you gawking for ya’ puppet?” He asks. Tarzana’s face has become cold, angry, distant. “You want to keep our ways how they were before we got here?” She asks. “Are you an idiot?” The Bishop turn as red as a tomato and points at Tarzana. “Watch your tongue before I burn it from your mouth.” Saliva flies across the room as he continues to shout.

“I don’t think you completely understand the Cults position here.” Tarzana calmly states. “For the first time in three hundred years we can be more than a scary bedtime story. We can have power.” “You mean yourself. You are simply using the Cult for your own gains. We have traditions.” The Bishop continues his tantrum. “And those do not include settling and fucking around with a Demonkiller.”

“Leave.” Tarzana says in a threatening tone. “You don’t get to command me, branch leader.” “Yes she does.” Hans says and materializes as a stunningly beautiful version of the Bishop. “I did not expect your mind-set to be this regressive.” The Arch-Demon chuckles. “But, WoW, Asha really dropped the ball with you.”

Tarzana kneels front of Hans, the demons the room respectfully lower their head. Only the Bishop is too enraged to act accordingly. “What do you she gets to command me?” He asks, “I don’t accept that.” “Then you are no longer part of my Cult.” Hans muses. “I expected that some of you Cultists have grown fond of the robbing and sacrificing over the years, you mortals change so quickly.”

The Bishop opens his mouth but Hans grabs him by the throat to not be interrupted. “If it takes a Schism to get the regressive elements out of my Church then so be it. Tarzana, dear, would you make that official. Everybody who wants to worship in the old ways are to be called the Wild Cult from now on and this little screamer here.” Hans throws him to the floor. “Will be their leader.”

“If that is your wish, Arch-Incubus.” “It is.” Hans affirms and gestures towards her and Kay. “You two get to that, I wish to speak to the twins in private.” Tarzana rushes out of the room, Kay follows in nonchalant manner.

“A Schism.” Tarzana says a she walks through the half build halls of the Cathedral. “Aye, big news.” Kay says, “Big? This is the greatest change in the last three hundred years.” Tarzana says, “But you know what is even greater?” Kay shakes his head. “Hans just put me above a Bishop in rank.” Tarzana smiles widely, “For a specific moment he did.” Kay returns her smile, “A detail that can be very easily forgotten during mass telepathy.” Tarzana adds. “How about we get to that and finally get me back in charge. That Catherine had too much influence over things she shouldn’t the last weeks.”

That's it.
