Talk to Eric

My date was here, taking a breather and enjoying the fresh air.

"Thanks for saving me from that weirdo back there, that was really kind of you." I approached him, putting my arm around him to share the heat.
"Oh don't mention it, it was the least I could do."
"The balls on that guy, being so bold in his approach!" I was legitimately furious at what had happened.
"You do like big romantic gestures, don't you?" My date teased me, tongue pulled out.

I pinched his side.
"That was different. You're not creepy like him."
"Is that why you're here with me in the dark?"
"Yeah, you're not dangerous." I leaned into him.

There was a small silence as we enjoyed each other's company and the relative calm of the outdoors.
"That party is boring."
"I really expected more from it, what with all the hype and everything..." I agreed.
"I know that might be a line I'm crossing... But I was hoping maybe you'd like to go someplace else? Somewhere we can be alone?" His voice was cracking as he expectantly looked at me, hoping I'd agree to his suggestion.

It was a boyish charm, a soft request that worried to step on toes or offend. I didn't quite know if I wanted to agree to his request or deny him...
