Take the Long Way!

Who really cared if he was late or not. Adam sure didn’t, his parents wouldn’t find out, and he’d only be late for first period. Adam went the way he always went.
Walking slowly down the sidewalk, Adam took the time to glance through the store windows, mainly just to take up more time. He was almost to the High School when suddenly he felt someone grab him from behind.

Adam turned to look back to see who it was, and found himself looking at a scraggly old bum. “Excuse me young man, could you spare some change?”
