Syd's place

They both decided Syd's place would be the best place to watch what was on the disk. Patrick and Izzy would probably be home, and they weren't sure the disk was safe for either of them to see, especially Izzy. Nancy was very protective of Izzy. "I don't know what might be on this disk, but I have a feeling Izzy shouldn't see it. I'm not ready for Patrick to find out were investigating Carlene's brother. He's still hurting over the whole Carlene thing."

"No need to explain," smiled Syd. "We're all still smarting from all that happened. We all lost a lot of things we never thought we would."

"Still thinking of Warren, huh? I understand," Nancy spoke as she placed a hand on Syd's leg, giving it a gentle squeeze of support and love.

"I really loved him. It was hard for me to take when all those memories came flooding back. How it was him who beat me and **** me because Carlene ordered him to. I lost my baby... Our baby because of it. Then when I came around that corner and saw him with that gun pointed at you, all that I felt turned into rage for him. Rage over everything he put me through. Rage over him trying to take your life. All I could think of was you and what you mean to me, and I opened fire."

Nancy looked at her friend through deep, sympathetic eyes. "Babe, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here right now. We'll always be besties and we'll always have each other's back."

They finally arrived at Syd's building, and Nancy pulled into the parking garage. The elevator ride up to Syd's place was inconsequential. They got out and entered Syd's place.

"Want something to drink?" Syd asked.

"Sure. Whatever you're having id fine."

"Two beers and a bowl of popcorn coming right up! May as well make it movie night. Have a seat. I'll be a few minutes. Then we can watch this disk."

Nancy took a seat on the sofa and gazed at the large wide screen on the wall. If there was anything subliminal about the content on the disk, a large TV should be able to detect it. Or so she thought. She pulled the disk from her pocket and looked it over in its jewel case. It appeared to be double sided when she opened the case. Sure enough, in the center of the disk was written Side One. "Hey this is a double sided disk," she said as Syd walked into the room with beers and a bowl of popcorn. She sat them on the coffee table before Nancy.

"Then we'll have to watch both sides," she responded as she took the disk from Nancy's hand. She walked over to the tiny entertainment center underneath the TV and popped the disk into the DVD player. She returned to the sofa, sat down and picked up the remote, The TV came to life and the DVD player's menu popped up. The choices on this side of the disk were Dirty Housewife, Young Love, Crack Whores. and Cock and Pussy Worship..

"What the hell?" came Nancy's startled voice.

"I don't know," answered Syd. "We may as well start at the beginning. I'll take Dirty Housewife for two hundred, Alex." She highlighted the selection and pressed play.
