Swag, Lots of Swag

Davis drops a backpack with the EvilGlam logo on your desk. The backpack is black with a wet look and the EvilGlam logo is bright red.

“I wanted to make you could properly promote the product before you left. There are t-shirts and samples inside.”

You look up from the marketing materials. “Thanks, is it already time to go?”

“Love the attitude. Keep it up and we’ll have you on salary next month.”

You smile at her. You notice Moon is standing and packing up. You hustle and follow her out.

“So, Moon, what’s it like interning here?”

She gives a bubbly laugh. “I’m not an intern anymore. They put me on salary a couple months ago. You wouldn’t believe how much. I’m paying all my expenses and I’m like sponsoring five manatees.”

“Manatees?”

“Yes, they’re endangered. I love manatees. They’re like the pillows of the ocean.”

“So is everybody salary?”

“Marsha is. She’s not the smartest girl. I thought they were going to let her go. Then she started using product and the picked her up the next day. Strangest thing though is she used to be the nicest sweetest girl I’d ever met, and now…Well, it’s why I don’t use EvilGlam.”

“Hunter?”

“He’s still an intern like you. He is pretty close to getting hired though.”

“Want to get some coffee?”

“If you’re hitting on me, I’m straight.”

You laugh.

“Even if you aren’t I’ve got Wildlife charity meeting.”

“Oh, I’ll see you tomorrow then.”

She grins at you. “Catch you tomorrow.”

You make you way to the bus stop. An hour and a half later you reach your mom’s house. You enter the five room ranch to see your mother rapidly changing.

“Sorry, Gracie, no dinner. I’ve got a waitressing job at some hoity-toity function. Where the hell is my make-up. Is that EvilGlam? Can I borrow some?”

“Sure mom.”

You mother grabs a tube of cherry red lipstick.

“Wish me luck. Hopefully the tips are good!”

She darts out the door.

You lounge about eating a quick dinner in front of the TV. You head off to bed.
