Surrender

"Open a channel, tell them that we surrender," you tell Elena. You are an ordinary person, not a hero. When faced with overwhelming odds, it is the rule of reason that could best guide you forward.

For a brief moment, Elena just stares at you, then she takes a deep breath, and opens a channel. In the following minutes you power down your vessel, and get ready to be boarded. Once the moment arrives, you expect to be taken into custody in a relatively gentle manner. Or at least in a sensible one. Instead, the first guy who enters the ship takes a swing at your neck with his electric baton, and everything goes dark.
