Surprisingly Well

Brandon and Ashley made their way inside, "Think you could grab Gavin and Vicky while I get Zack and Chloe before getting in the shower?" Brandon asked while they walked through the back door,

"Seriously? I mean I figure those two are probably rolling around again." Ashley retorted,

"Well knock first," Brandon said with a chuckle, assuming she was referring to Victoria and Gavin,

"Huh, what are you talking about?" Ashley quickly snapped back, a bit harsher than she expected,

Brandon looked at her in a mixture of surprise and confusion, "Gavin and Victoria," He replied after a moment of staring, "Knock before going in, if you think they are going to be in the middle of something."

Ashley shook her head quickly, "Right, yeah, that'd be smart." She said smiling at him, "Sorry about snapping; I'm just a little irritated right now."

"How come?" Brandon asked shifting a little closer to her, "You alright?"

"Yeah, I think I'm just hungry." Ashley said weakly laughing, "I'm sure after lunch and a shower I'll be right as rain."

"Oh okay, guess I'll remember to make you a little extra then," Brandon said with a smile before leaning in and attempting to plant a kiss on her lips.

Ashley however, maneuvered her head so his lips were placed right on her cheek instead, Ashley let out a little humming giggle, "You are the best, thanks, babe." She said as she turned and headed towards Victoria and Gavin's room,

"Yeah," Brandon replied slightly concerned, he didn't understand why she was acting so distant to him. Ever since this morning when she fucked him while in an extremely hostile mood, she just kept away from him. This wasn't wholly new, as when they've had fights in the past she'd sometimes go days without saying anything to him, but this was different. He couldn't remember doing anything to piss her off, at least knowingly, and he couldn't honestly say she was angry, more like disinterested.

Brandon ran his hand through his hair and shook his head; I'm_ just psyching myself out, she's just having an off day. _He thought to himself, _We all have bad days, no need to make a big deal out of hers. _He concluded as he walked to Zack and Chloe's room. He let himself in and said, "Hey you two, about to start grilling some lunch you-Oh shit!" Brandon exclaimed as he saw Chloe on top of Zack, kissing him passionately as Zack's hands ran up and down her back and ass, "Sorry, sorry!" Brandon exclaimed while diverting his eyes,

Chloe quickly whirled back and jumped off of Zack, turning a deep shade of red. Zack propped himself up and let out a little cough, "No, it's-it's fine man, we weren't, uh, what's up?" Zack muttered out,

"I-sorry I didn't think you two were...honestly I didn't even know what was really happening between you two," Brandon explained unable to look back to the pair from embarrassment,

"Well guess you know now, huh?" Zack said with a little smirk while glancing at Chloe who could only grin to herself,

"Yeah, er no? I don't know," Brandon said before letting out a deep sigh, "I was just coming to tell you two I'm making lunch, if you want some let me know, I'm starting in like ten." He explained before quickly turning and leaving the room,

As he left Chloe let out a slightly annoyed exhale, "We're in a huge cabin with a lake and miles of woods surrounding us and still, we can't any time alone." She said with a toss of her eyes,

Zack let out a laugh through his nose and put an arm around her, pulling her back to him, "Who cares who sees us? You and me, we're together, and I'm not about to let anyone stand in the way of enjoying ourselves."

Chloe let out a smirk, "Oh, so now you want to give them a show? Bishop, just because I let you see me however you want doesn't mean I'll let them."

"Right, kinda forgot, I'm a special guy," Zack said feigning smugness,

"Very special," Chloe wholeheartedly agreed,

Zack and Chloe pressed their lips together, sharing a short but beloved kiss, as they broke it off Zack peered back towards their door, "So, you think you're feeling well enough to go and get some food?" He asked with a hopeful tone, "Because I am a little hungry." He added on with a smirk,

Chloe rolled her eyes, "Only you would break off a kiss for food, Zack." Chloe joked out,

Zack let out a hearty laugh, "Hey, I'm not that much of an idiot. If you want to continue..." Zack hinted back to her,

Chloe let out a playful scoff, "Keep it in your pants," She said while slipping out of bed, "At least for now." She tacked on with a raised brow,

"Yes, ma'am." Zack agreed with a grin and got out of the bed as well. The two proceeded to walk out of the room with Zack's arm draped around Chloe's shoulder, a smile shared between the two of them. They quickly bumped into Victoria and Gavin who too had been called for lunch, "Oh, hey you two, what's up?"

"Not much Zack, did Brandon tell you about lunch?" Victoria asked sweetly,

"Oh yeah, that's right where we're heading," Zack replied with a short nod,

Victoria let out a smile and looked at the two, "So...you two official, yet?"

Chloe immediately let out a broad smile, "Yeah, we are."

"Aw," Victoria said happily, "I always knew you two would get together, you're just perfect together."

"Seriously?" Gavin quickly interjected, "I would never have thought that."

"You never would have thought you'd have a chance with me either, right?" Victoria pointed out,

"Fair point," Gavin conceded, "Guess I just don't have an eye for this stuff."

"That's fine," Victoria giggled back, "I do, so I'll help you out."

"Chloe, why don't you and Vicky go on ahead, I need to talk to Gavin for a second," Zack said while looking down at her,

"Oh, um, alright..." Chloe said a little weakly, not wanting to break away from his hold,

"It's fine Chloe, C'mon, let's go place our order to chef Brandon!" Victoria exclaimed with a happy smile as she grabbed Chloe's hand and pulled her along,

As the two disappeared around the corner into the kitchen, Zack looked over to Gavin with crossed arms and a smirk, "What?" Gavin asked with a little grin of his own,

"You know we heard all that right?" Zack merely replied,

Gavin's cheeks turned a little red, "Ah...well, we were gonna wait but...things kinda...escalated." Gavin stumbled out back to him,

Zack couldn't help but let out a laugh, "Good for you man; she's really into you."

"I know." Gavin quickly replied his grin turning into a full smile, "I can't believe it, but she's like...obsessed with me or something." Gavin paused for a moment and lowered his voice, "Hey, I'm really am sorry about making you hear all that, I know you had a thing for her, and I don't want anything to come between us,"

Zack let out a scoff and tossed his hand up, "Screw that man, I'm not gonna get jealous. I already told you it was fine with me; I'm not about to change my mind once you actually get things going. Plus, you heard Chloe, we're together."

Gavin shook his head, "I'm sorry, it's still hard for me to imagine. I've never seen you two so much as hold a look before this week, and now you're fucking Romeo and Juliet."

"What can I say?" Zack shrugged back, "I love her, she loves me, we just fucking click. We always did, why ignore that?"

"Can't argue with that." Gavin agreed as the pair started to walk, "So was that it?"

"Half just wanted to give you the heads up. Heather's a little suspicious where you and Vicky went today. I accidentally told her that you had spare phone chargers, so your little story isn't holding up too well." Zack explained,

Gavin let out a sigh, "Damn, that's gonna be awkward. We didn't really want anyone to know exactly what's happening with us."

"And that is?" Zack asked with a raised brow,

"We kinda screwed up last night...get me?" Gavin hinted out, causing Zack's eyes to go a bit wide as he instantly understood, "Yeah, so we had to get something to...fix that situation today."

"Oh shit," Zack mumbled out, "That's pretty...important."

"Tell me about it." Gavin agreed,

"Well if it helps, I'll keep my mouth shut about it," Zack added on,

"Good, that actually does help," Gavin replied in a thankful tone,

"No problem," Zack said as they turned into the kitchen, "Oh, and Gavin, I kinda had a favor. Think you can hook up your laptop to the projector again. I wanted to watch a movie with Chloe tonight."

"You got it; I can have that hooked up in five minutes." Gavin instantly replied,

"Thanks, man, you're the best." Zack thanked him as they walked out the sliding glass door onto the deck where the others had all gathered to eat.

The meal surprisingly wasn't hostile or even tension-filled. Ashley and Chloe did their best to ignore one another while the others made small talk. Once Zack brought up his idea to watch a movie with Chloe, Brandon asked to join in, as they too missed their chance the other night. Zack had agreed without even thinking about Ashley joining in as well. Neither girl spoke up as they would only make things appear that they were at odds.

As they finished up the late lunch, Gavin quickly headed in and began to hook up his laptop for the others while Zack and Chloe went to grab a blanket. Brandon and Ashley made a bowl of popcorn and grabbed a few drinks before settling in the den as well. Heather and Kurt returned to their rooms to relax, and Victoria asked Gavin to join her for a walk down by the lake once he was finished up.
