Surprisingly, yes!

Slowly creeping up the ivy, James winced at every creak and crack. At one point, there was even a loud snapping sound as a large wad of ivy came loose. He managed to just about hold on and he stayed still for but a moment just to be sure he hadn’t been heard.

He breathed a sigh of relief when nobody came and continued his climb up, making it through his unlocked window a few moments later.

Upon making it into his room, James immediately looked around, breathing another sigh of relief as it appeared empty. He slowly got undressed, tiptoed into his bed and laid down.

What a day. He thought to himself.

He went through everything that had happened so far. From being late, to being at the coffee shop with Tash, to the weird earthquake, to being at hospital.

It was at that moment, he remembered the doctor had told him to text Tash. Taking out his phone, he noticed he had been inundated with calls and texts. Six missed calls from each of his parents, three from his sister, a dozen text messages from his family asking where he was, as well as a text from Tash from about 15 minutes ago.

How you doing? She asked.

Not the best. Not the worst. Been a weird day.

Yeah you’re right. Listen. With everything I was about to say. I’m sorry.

It’s okay. I know what I like is weird but I really don’t want this to effect our relationship. I really like you Tash.

There was a pause. Every moment felt like an eternity. James was about to pick up his phone to send a follow up text instructing her to ignore him and that it was just his dented brain talking. But before he could, she responded.

I guess it’s not that weird. I mean everyone else does it so why shouldn’t we?

James’ heart leapt before he remembered that this was probably down to the weird witch/angel woman.

That’s great. As long as you’re comfortable. Listen, I really need to get some shuteye, but maybe we could meet up tomorrow after class?

Don’t tell me you’re actually going in?

I was going to try, yes!

James had absolutely no desire to stay here after the events of the last day.

Okay but make sure you feel well enough to come out. If you’re not, I’ll come to yours, okay?

Okay, yeah. I’ll see you tomorrow <3
