Supervillain: Origin

Jim Vilest is Granville’s feared Supervillain.

Years ago, Jim, a promising young Archaeologist unearthed remains of a crumbling monolith. Inside a hollowed out block at the base of the ruined pillar, Jim found an orb made of opal. It was truly stunning. In sunlight, colors danced around in the orb as Jim rotated the treasure in his hand.

After showing his findings to the University, they wanted to keep the opal and claim the fame that Jim thought he rightfully deserved. Refusing the University’s offer, Jim left and never returned.

Studying the opal, Jim discovered that it had cosmic properties, not reality bending capabilities but when his landlord told him to leave his apartment he shouted that he wasn’t going anywhere and that he should leave. The landlord fell into a trance and walked out of the front door. Confused, Jim looked down at his hand holding the opal orb then finally understood with a menacing smile.

He won’t be robbing banks, they’ll rob themselves for him. He can tell a police officer to arrest himself. Jim Vilest has become...The Manipulator.
