Chapter 7 by Ultra Bra Ultra Bra

What to do about your masses of clones?

Stuff is really happening

Your house is a mess. The kitchen is raided, the bathtub and the shower are in constant use, the living room has Sophies fighting over the remote, there's an orgy going on in your bedroom, and one of your clones fell down the attic stairs and broke her leg.

Sophie: "How the heck am I supposed to accommodate this many clones? There's gotta be some way to put us back together."

You dial for Dr. Alan Coitus, your personal doctor. However, he's left a voice message saying that his reception is already occupied by a group of twelve Sophies, and they're currently trying to brainstorm a way to possibly join you back together.

Next you think to dial your neighbor Dan, who works at a nearby army camp. Maybe the military would be interested in experimenting with your cloning abilities? Dan at least picks up the phone.

Dan: "Hi Sophie. Sorry, I'm a bit caught up at the moment as you can probably guess."

Sophie: "My clones, eh?"

Dan: "Yea. I'm hauling a bunch of them to the compound right now. The Sophie who's riding shotgun is actually holding my phone. But did you say your clones? I thought the original Sophie was with me."

Sophie: "Well I'd assume I'm the original Sophie but... now that you mention it, I'm really not sure. We all split up in a mad dash running for our lives."

Dan: "That's another thing you ought to work on, then. Alright I'll keep in touch if we find out anything."

Sophie: "Thanks a mile. Bye."

So there's an uncertainty about who's the original Sophie? You ask around a little, and there are two other Sophies currently at the house who believe themselves to be the originals. However, you quickly find out that your clones are very prone to do anything you tell them to, but you on the other hand are immune to such commands from them. This must mean that there's some kind of an invisible chain of command based on order of duplication.

Through trial and error, you manage to figure out that this **** applies not only to the original Sophie, but to every Sophie who has a lower 'ranking', meaning whoever is further removed from the original Sophie. With this system, you manage to find out that you are indeed the most high-ranked Sophie currently at your house.

Before you have to start calling around volunteers around the city for places to sleep in, all of your clones simultaneously get a phone call. It's from Dan, who has managed to join two Sophies together. Seems that a higher-ranked Sophie will always be able to join a lower-ranked Sophie into herself by pressing their foreheads together, relaxing and focusing on the idea of joining together. The lower-ranked clone will disappear.

With this process, you slowly manage to join every Sophie at your house into yourself. You're a little wary of joining together the Sophie whose leg broke, but thankfully physical trauma doesn't seem to carry over into you. Your leg only slightly aches for a moment afterwards. Memories however do carry on, and it's quite disorientating. You join so many different Sophies together that you no longer remember what route you took to get to your house. You remember driving here straight from work, going to a restaurant, having several one-night stands, going to see a movie with a bunch of your clones, going shopping at least twelve times because your clones ate everything at your house, specifically going to buy ice cream for Sophie 2, going to the park, the beach, the gym, heck, even the airport for some reason. You also remember several days worth of sex occurring in the span of a few hours.

You remain at your doorstep late into the evening, waiting out the trickles of Sophies and in turn assimilating them all into yourself. A little before 1AM, a humvee drives up to your curb. It's Dan, who came by to drop off the other Sophie - the one who also believes herself to be the original.

The two of you stare at each other for a moment, a slight terror building up. You don't say anything. You don't even dare to test who has the power of **** over the other. You both simply assume the position - foreheads together, slightly leaning into each other. You both focus on the idea of joining together.

It's a good thing Dan was there to witness it, because otherwise nobody would've seen as you both disappeared.

ENDING 81 -The Disappearing Act-

What's next?
