Strange attraction

Alicia leads Mike down to another room, chatting along the way. “Fiona is so excited to meet you! She’s really popular, one of the few people who have a mixed race background, and it gives her a very unusual look, so I want you to be prepared.”

Mike chuckles. “Everyone looks pretty unusual to me here, you know that.”

She laughs. “I suppose so! The thing is, the Tyrii evolved from an insect-like species, and somehow changed to be like us, but they keep the traits of insects. Things like wings, extra limbs, or like Damon, chitinous plates. No two are exactly alike.”

Mike nods. “So why is Fiona unusual?”

Alicia grins. “Well, most Tyrii have a very bug-like appearance. Fiona is more…well, she looks more normal.”

Mike laughs. “Again, normal to you is not the same as normal to me! I’m sure she’s lovely, though.”

Alicia nods, giving Mike a nudge. “And I bet she’s going to be interested in you! She told me she thought you were cute!”

Mike chuckles, shaking his head. “You set this up on purpose, didn’t you? You want to get us together.”

Alicia winks. “Maybe…or maybe I think she could join us sometime!”

The two of them laugh as Alicia stops in front of a door. “Here we are, are you ready?”

Mike nods, and Alicia opens the door. The two of them walk in, and Mike is surprised by the appearance of the person inside, despite Alicia’s warnings.

Fiona appears to be descended from some kind of moth. She has long, blue-grey hair, and huge black eyes with white pupils. Fluffy white antennae sprout from her forehead, and most unusually, she has four arms! A set of wings completes the picture, with a striking black and white design. She is conservatively dressed, wearing a tight sweater and grey leggings, but that still leaves her wide hips, narrow waist and large breasts obvious to see.

She approaches with a smile, and speaks softly with a refined, melodious voice. “A pleasure to meet you, Mike. I am Fiona, and I look forward to getting to know you much better.”

She grasps his hand in two of hers to shake, and there’s a hind of amusement in her eyes. As they shake hands, Mike smiles. “I look forward to it as well.”

Fiona smiles wider, and there’s a definite glimmer of anticipation in her eyes as the three of them sit down at the table. Though she hides it well, her eyes wander over Mike as he sits. Rather than making him uncomfortable, it feels natural, as if it’s a compliment.

Alicia grins, whispering in his ear.
