Chapter 25

Stay

I paused, considering her words. If I left the tent, I would be **** to the dangers of the orc camp. But if I stayed, I would be at the mercy of this orc woman... and her sizable loincloth. Neither option was ideal, but I decided to take my chances and stay.

“Fine, I’ll stay,” I mumbled, feeling defeated.
“Good choice. Now, come here, little human. I have something for you,” she said, beckoning me over with a wave of her hand.

I cautiously approached the bed, unsure of what she meant by “something”. But as I got closer, I saw that there was a bowl of stew on the nightstand.

“There, eat up. It’ll give you strength for what’s to come,” she said with a sly grin.

I eyed the stew warily, not sure if I should trust it, but my stomach grumbled, betraying my hunger. I cautiously took a sip and was surprised by how delicious it tasted. I had to admit, the orcs knew how to cook.

As I ate, the orc woman watched me intently, a small smile playing on her lips. It made me uncomfortable, but I tried to focus on the food instead.

When I finished, she took the empty bowl and placed it back on the nightstand.

“Good boy. Now, I suggest you get some rest. You have a big day tomorrow,” she said, a hint of amusement in her voice.

I nodded, thankful for the chance to escape her gaze. I lay back down on the cushions, trying to calm my racing thoughts.
