Stay the night

“Let’s not let them end things for us,” you say as you look deeply into his eyes. “We can ignore them and still have a good time.” He meets your smile and grabs you by the hand.

Your heart rate quickens as he leads you into a bedroom. “I figure it best to be as far away from his room as possible. He shares a wall with the living room and you can hear things way too easily.”

You’re ignorant enough that you don’t really catch what he is talking about, but accept his answer as a good reason to be in his room. You just hope he’s not going to expect anything too quickly.

“I’m really glad you decided to stay,” Greg said as he propped the pillows up against the wall so that you two could sit on his bed for a little while to do whatever it was that he might have planned.

He strips out of his socks and sits down and looks at you who haven’t moved at all from where he had left you. You’re not afraid of him, but you feel a little fear of being alone with him like this. It’s not even that he’ll do anything to you, but you’re afraid of what you might do.

You strip out of your shoes and socks and go and join him on the bed, both of you sitting on top of the blanket. You’re very happy about that, not wanting to risk anything that could happen under a blanket. Though you’re very interested in him and are sure something will happen soon, you’re still not ready for it.

After a bit of awkward silence, he finally broke it. “Why are you so nervous?”

You turn and look at him, his eyes looking right into yours. Though you’ve shared looks, somehow this feels like the most intimate of them all. “I’m not used to any of this. Things are going faster than I would have thought.”

The eye contact continues and you’re feeling a strong desire to kiss him. You need something to break the tension and you just think that might be it. Somehow that feels like the only way.

You lean in and share a kiss. It’s nothing to spectacular, but it accomplishes what you would have hoped. The tension breaks, you share the fact that you really like him but don’t want things to happen too quickly. He nodded his approval and the talk turned more light-hearted as it often did on your dates.

It starts to get late and you agree to stay the night. He strips down to his t-shirt and boxers and gets under the covers. You hesitate before deciding what to do.
