Start Over

The train booth was silent as Nathan with his blue and green eye stared into Harmony’s soft brown eyes. The two academy students stood awkwardly facing other Harmony’s slowly composing her self while Nathan on the other hand was running possible solutions through his mind.

Harmony however first sat down wiping the last of her tears before speaking softly. “I think we should start over now that we both know what we know now my name is Harmony Ashcroft daughter of Silas Ashcroft heir to the Ashcroft family.”

As Nathan sat down opposite of Harmony he composed himself as his brain processed the words before speaking himself. “My name is Nathan BlackThorn son of Ambrose BlackThorn.” Nathan said nervously as he twiddled with his wand.

Harmony looked mildly surprised as you said your name before she could speak however your quickly spoke “Yes the Ambrose BlackThorn the one who caused the whole Magnus war and stuff.” Harmony closed her mouth as you had obviously guessed correctly as to what she was going to ask.

“What house are you in? I have been all around campus and I haven’t seen you once except during dinner or the first time we met.” Harmony said frowning as she recalled how you two met. You smiled a little before replying. “I am not in any of the four houses in fact I am in my own house actually.” As you said these words Harmony looked at you with astonishment motioning for you to continue.

“Well I took the same house assessment test like everyone else however I didn’t get into any of the other houses as my metal pin didn’t turn into a cerberus, phoenix, wyvern, or a pegasus instead it turned into a skull.” Harmony raised an eyebrow before you unclasped your pin tossing it to her. She quickly caught it inspecting it in her hand before speaking. “I got sorted into house Phoenix what happened to you then if you didn’t get sorted into one of the four houses then?” Harmony said as she tossed your pin back to you.

You smiled as you remembered what happened before sitting back against the train booth. I got my own dorm, my own room and yet it feels empty.” You say as you stare into space before Harmony speaks up.

“I am in house Phoenix like I said before but if I’m honest its lonely the girls are all smart but not like me I feel so out of my depth when I ask them what wards or sigils are they look at me like I am crazy.” Harmony says as she frowns.

You chuckled covering your mouth only for Harmony to speak up asking what you were laughing about. In response you only pointed to the train booth door with the shadow wards still active with a single sigil glowing blue on the door.

Harmony’s eyes looked in surprise as she stood up before walking over to the door and examining the door before speaking in surprise. “These are level 10 shadow sigils these aren’t seen outside of Heckler and Koch maximum security prison how did you even do these?” Harmony said as she examined the blue sigil.

“I saw it in a textbook once and asked professor Price if I could learn it. Of course she didn’t know how to even begin but she helped me with it as best as she could.” You smiled before continuing. “It was a lot of work but I cracked it and showed the prison sigil masters needless to say the Prison Sigil Masters were impressed and allowed me to use their sigils and techniques heck I even got an apprenticeship from them.”

Harmony looked at you a newfound respect in her eyes before the train whistle sounded signaling to the two students that they were almost to their destination.
