Spin! (10)

Around and around the wheel goes. The pointer clacks against the outer needles, and it gradually slows down. You can't help but still find this ridiculous, but you watch nervously as it nears the end. Your heart skips a beat for each option it rolls straight past, hoping it stops at "Escape!" so you can get out of this place. Click, click... click... Finished.

Much to your surprise, the wheel stopped at "Escape!" on the very first spin.

There's a long, awkward pause. The voice doesn't speak, and all Niki can do is hang up there confused, waiting to be told what's going on. After a moment, however, you look around and speak up. "So, did we win?"

"... Why did I even put that on there?!" the voice responds. Then it sighs. "That's really boring. But I'll remember you ruined my fun today. Somehow, I'll get my show. Someday. For now, yeah yeah. You win. Fair and square. When you're ready, proceed through the door. It'll be unlocked."

You hear a quiet click nearby.

Then the platform slowly sinks to the ground. Niki's bindings disappear, allowing her to leap to freedom. She stretches her arms high above her head, rubs her wrists, and struts right over to you. She then, to your surprise, wraps her arms around you for a tight, armoured hug. "You're the best, Kyle."

"No problem. It was a game of luck," you reply.

"Still, you saved me from who-knows-what." She glances around for a moment as dark colour appears in her cheeks. Then she looks you in the eyes, moves in, and presses a surprisingly gentle kiss to your lips. "There. Now the debt is paid," she quickly states before walking right past you towards the door.

Eva opens her mouth wide. "What?!"

Amara giggles. "Come then. Let us continue. We do not know how much is left."

You nod and follow behind. While two chambers might be cleared already, Amara is right. There could be plenty more ahead. The only thing you can do is pass through the doorway and find out yourself. Then hopefully you can find out who's behind all of this.
