What do you do?
Speed up
Once you hear those footsteps, you immediately assumed the worst. You slowly increase how quickly you were walking, hoping the person behind you doesn’t notice you’ve caught on. Unfortunately, that is too much for you in your drunken haze. As you speed up, so do the footsteps behind you. The fear quickly grows within you, and you pray to god it’s just a passerby. You know what happens to scantily clad women in back alleys, especially ones that walk home drunk at night. The steps get closer, and closer, and closer.
Suddenly, you are violently thrusted to the wall. As your body slammed against the bricks, the wind is completely knocked out of you. As you desperately tried to catch your breath you see the large man standing in-front of you. Though his face and features are masked by the darkness, what’s clear is how much larger he is than you. For the first time in your entire life, you experience complete and total helplessness. All possible hope of this going any other way disappear. As the man approached you, you knew that it was going to be this man who decided your fate.
