Something she did not expect to find

As she stepped off the elevator, she noticed that it was cold. Very cold.

There was no guard down here. Heck, there were no people down here. Just a large stone altar and behind that, a far bigger and larger statue.

Wait, she said to herself. Are there stains on that altar? Blood stains?

As she got closer, she saw that there were indeed blood stains on the altar. And around it were scattered various items of women's clothing. A thong here. A bikini bottom there. A girdle. And more panties than she could shake a stick at.

Make a wish, said a voice inside her head. Make the final sacrifice to the Unknown Goddess of Modesty and then make a wish.

But I'll be naked, she thought.

So you'll be naked. Do you have any idea how much you can gain by just making a wish right now?

It was tempting. All so tempting.

What could she wish for? World peace? A cure for cancer? A million dollars?

Yes, she could make that wish but first she had to know... Where did all that blood come from?

The heck with it, she thought. My investigation is over. I found the big secret the company was hiding. Now all I have to do was turn around and re-enter the elevator.

She started to turn around and do just that. But something had caught hold of her panties. Something was tugging at them -- hard.

She tugged back until she heard something rip and then suddenly she was running toward the elevator and asking the operator to close the doors. She regretted having left her golden lasso back in her car but that did not matter now. All that mattered was that she was tired and cold and most of all embarrassed to be seen naked by the elevator operator.

I hope they don't all stare at me like that. Especially the men. But she could already picture the sneers she'd face from the others back at headquarters when they found out.

Geez, I wish they all knew what it was like to be naked for a change. All the time.

As she got out of the elevator and gathered up the small pile of clothing that had been left for her, she noticed that the lobby was full of people who were standing near the windows and the doors and glancing outside. Everyone she saw there was naked.

As were all the people that she saw outside the building. For miles around, it seemed...
