Something intimate and emotional

Something about the last few days has awoken something inside of you. You're not quite sure you understand it, but you want to ride the wave you're experiencing.

Your ensuing sketch is two hands, wrapped around each other with a grasp that is almost ****. Or, at least, an attempt at that. This is where you learn that there is no part of the human body so hard to draw as the hand. At least you're giving yourself the whole page to get things right. You still find that there's a gap at the top, and you draw two eyes, a feminine and a masculine one, looking at each other with what you hope is intimate desire.

Missus Schmitt spends most the class pacing around, examining what everyone is drawing. You suppose this is her way of getting to know her students. Finally, after circling multiple times, she is able to notice what you are doing. You almost feel naked in front of her. Not physically, but emotionally. But you've already gone far enough down this rabbit hole, and you will yourself to not even slow down.

"Very interesting Mister Brown," she says, her hand on her chin. "I wonder if you are waking up to your own passions and longings for connection. Encouragingly sensitive, from a male student. I don't often see the courage to be so **** on the first day."

"Uh...thanks," you say. "I mean, it's just kind of...what I wanted to draw?"

She nods. "Do not mistake me. I absolutely intend to encourage you to follow your passion, here. Life is too short for anything else. And I see such passion in this, already. Your increasing experience and talent over this semester will only help you draw it out further.

You look down at your sketch as she walks on. It's true, isn't it? You're discovering another side of yourself. A side willing to open up, to reach out to others and put trust in them. Maybe, after a year of being **** to stay indoors and isolated, it's something to take pride in.

And despite how amateur your sketch is, you ultimately are proud of it by the time the class ends. You find yourself looking forward to next art class, and you prepare yourself for the last 'first day' you'll have this semester.
