Something extraordinary

The next morning, Walter woke up with the usual routine ahead of him. As he sat down for breakfast with Wendy and Isabella, he couldn't shake off the lingering thoughts about the strange events of yesterday, especially the encounter with the old man.

During breakfast conversation, Walter absentmindedly made a casual remark, "You know, I have a feeling something extraordinary is going to happen today."

Wendy and Isabella exchanged amused glances. "Really, Dad?" Isabella chuckled. "What's so special about today?"

Walter shrugged, dismissing his own comment as a passing thought. "Oh, nothing, just a gut feeling. Anyway, have a great day, both of you."

Grabbing his bag he quickly got ready for work, eager to see if anything unusual had happened. As he approached the coffee shop, he couldn't help but glance at the alley where he had helped the old man. To his surprise, the alley was closed off, a tall rusty metal fence barring any entry. It seemed as though the previous day's mess had vanished. So had the old man. Shaking his head in disbelief, Walter entered the coffee shop and ordered his usual.

Later, at work, Gwendolyn greeted him with her usual cheerful smile. Walter hesitated for a moment, contemplating whether to share the peculiar incident with her.
