Someone rings the doorbell

Looking at the options, Lauren decides that 'Someone rings the doorbell' is most likely the best option because it's almost certainly just her sister Vanessa returning drunk and unable to unlock the door with her keys and it cannot be worse than 'Lauren wets the bed' which is distinctly a terrible option. Lauren is soon to find out why this may not have been the best option. As Lauren reads the previous line she, for justifiable reason, gets rather concerned and wonders if its too late to go back and choose a different option. As she questions this and reads on the doorbell rings and Lauren begins rushing to read as much of the text as possible hoping to eventually read some information on what will happen when she opens the door giving her some power and security in knowing her future actions.

But as she reads on she realises that this text is starting to become more and more and more of bland filler and is dawns on Lauren that in fact she most likely cannot read past this rambling and see into the future and this event must actually play out before she can read them. Hopeful that this rambling is just bad writing, she continues onward but its hopeless especially as leaving the person at the door too long will make the outcome of this story much worse.

Upon reading this and hearing the doorbell ring again, Lauren rushes off downstairs to greet the visitor. And like the great Emperor who once ruled a mighty kingdom, in her shock failed to realise the current state of her own 'clothes'.
