How Do Things Play Out?
Solving the Puzzle...Hopefully
It didn't take as long as they thought to find the 6 statues they needed, it was figuring out where to place them and which pair they needed that were the tricky parts. One of the Human male statues, a female Hobgoblin statue, a male Catfolk statue, a female Dragonkin statue, a female Minotaur statue, and a male Elf were the ones they had to pick out from the crowd. Each grabbed two of the statues and tried finding a place in the room to pair them up away from "the crowd" with each starting with a particular pairing. Evan decided to do the male/female pairing, mostly on account he seemed to be mostly living it; Nyx opted for the Male/Male pairing, to them stated gender norms were an oddity anyway; and that left with the Female/Female pairing.
The females were all surprisingly curvy, and all the males had rather large groins for some reason. This puzzle was likely to throw someone for a loop. Evan, Clr'klinsa, and Nyx were going to have quite the time moving and arranging everything.
Clr'klinsa dragged the Minotaur female and the female Hobgoblin over to an empty corner of the room that seemed to be devoid of any other statues and placed the Minotaur with her back to the wall and Hobgoblin facing the Minotaur. After getting the position as good as she could, which took a few minutes, Clr'klinsa went to see how the other two were doing. Evan took the Human and Dragonkin and carried them off to an empty space off to the side of the room's entrance and arranged things so the Human was closer to the crowd with his back to the group and the Dragonkin was closer to the exit, both were facing each other but the Dragonkin was also placed in such a way they could also watch the room, after getting everything as good as he could, which took a few minutes, Evan went to check on things with the other members of his group. Nyx had a hard time finding a good place to prop up the Elf and Catfolk in placement that suggested they were seeking some privacy but they found it, Nyx placed things so the Catfolk had their back to the wall and the Elf was facing him, then it took a few minutes to get the two in what Nyx thought was a proper placement before heading to compare notes with the other two of the group.
"Well, we did the best we could with the clues," said Evan as they all met back up, he took a quick look at the exit, nothing seemed to have changed, "but it still feels like something is missing, a part of the riddle or piece of the puzzle that we didn't quite notice."
"I know the feeling," said Clr'klinsa, "but we've done the best we can under the circumstances. The only other thing we can do is have each pairing trade partners until we get an indicator the arrangement is right, and that could take hours with how each of the way the statues are in their gestures."
"Yes, but we'll only be having two statues moving to new placements," said Nyx, "it's the positioning after that's the real time-eater."
"True enough," said Clr'klinsa, "and that's assuming we read the clues properly."
"And found enough to get the right idea," said Nyx.
"Maybe the statues will give us some clues," said Evan as he turned his attention to where the statues were positioned by the group. He noticed the Hobgoblin, Dragonkin, and Elf were glowing with a gold-like aura. "Looks like we got some of it right, but it might be a bit tricky moving what we got wrong."
