Chapter 503 by lew54321 lew54321

What’s waiting for you?

Sneak away and find out

Change detected. Click here to view details in the KDK app.

You saw the generic message and given that you hadn’t done anything with your subjects except your car encounter with Grace, which wasn’t anything new, you wondered what could have got the KDK to update.

You couldn’t exactly check now either with Jessica sitting right there so you needed a reason to go off on your own for a little while, finding a reason pretty quickly when you thought about a few places the tour had ignored.

“I know Grace mentioned some PC equipment in the back room that wasn’t being used anymore, you know anything about that or would you mind me taking a look while you are here?” you asked, attempting to make your escape.

You were also actually genuinely curious about getting it working as it felt like it had been a while since you had done something with your computer knowledge. Other than studying for exams which felt like just a memorisation exercise, you briefly realised you were probably wasting some of the non-sexualised benefits that the KDK was giving you, making you give yourself a reminder to discuss it with Emma later if you got the chance.

"Knock yourself out" Jessica said, slouching back into her chair and not caring where you went next. Just so long as you weren't bothering her.

You got up and headed to the back room without trying to give away that you were rushing off to do anything secret, only letting yourself check your phone again when you were sure that nobody was around.

Achievement: It's more rewarding this way
5XP, 6 points - Convince a non-subject to change their opinion on something without the direct use of the KDK

It felt like a bit of a let down as you had wanted to get some unique effect or something similar to what you had gotten to register Rebecca originally, an item to let you speed up the process if it would let you.

That however seemed to defeat the purpose of the achievement, not letting you take the easy way out when you were more than capable of figuring out how to get Jessica as a subject if you just put your mind to it.

...If you put your mind to it.

Which you weren't planning on doing right now and could wait at least until you satified your curiosity with the slightly dated PC's that you could see hiding away in this room.

It wouldn't be considered interesting work if you were to try and involve anyone else, and you were sure Jessica would just give you a blank stare if you told her, however it did make you feel that you were giving something purpose if you could manage to get it to work.

There were at least a couple different PC's that looked to be in various states of disrepair so you started with the one that was in the best looking shape and went from there.

You didn't know what had happened to some of these computers during the time that they had been in storage but some were clearly missing some parts, maybe having been used to help repair the ones in a better condition and honestly, that was all you were trying to do as well.

Grabbing the parts you thought you needed, you went about rebuilding the PCs and thought it was a miracle when you finally managed to get one to boot up and reach the start screen. And once you got a second one working, you would have nearly ended up cheering for joy if it wasn't for Jessica sitting just outside the room.

Grace had never actually told you where these computers had come from but given the fact that the first one listed a few users and none had any password protection, it was safe to assume that you had managed to 'hack' into somebody's old family computer and you hadn't found the computer of some secret evil company with hidden documents stashed on it.

Still, even without the grand mystery that you had been secretly hoping to uncover, you had again been able to have a somewhat productive session getting not 1 but 2 of these to work and after checking the time on your phone, not long had actually passed since you had started, leaving you with about an hour left on your shift.

That was if you were sticking to the rough timings that Grace had given you and you could possibly be even later than that depending on how she was doing.

You briefly considered going back out front to talk with Jessica again but she had no idea that you were finished up in here and getting some extra time to just be with yourself was a luxury that was hard to come by at the moment. It felt like you were letting your mind briefly wander before you settled on a topic that seemed to pique your interest.

Just solely based on its relevance this evening.

There wasn't even a plan to dig deep into this topic but you couldn't help but wonder what had been the KDK's ultimate goal ever since you got the thing. Or where it had even come from.

You had no idea if this had been worked on by a large company with multiple copies and iterations of its design or if it was just one person's experiment that happened to end up being successful.

Even if it was at either end of the spectrum, some of the things it had been able to do were so far out of this world that you couldn't tell if it was magic or very complicated science fiction.

At first you had imagined it somehow connecting or imprinting on you which could then learn about your subjects when you registered them but a few things recently had gone against that theory.

The fact that the 'forget me nots' could be used on non-subjects to make them forget your events and most recently, the achievement you had just received.

Jessica wasn't connected to the system yet so how did it know that she had changed her mind about a topic?

Or even if she was connected, how would it know her thoughts at all?

Those sorts of questions led you to believe that the system leaned towards more of a magical origin but then even that opened up even more questions about how you ended up with it and about what 'magic' already existed in the world before the KDK.

You felt yourself drift off topic as you imagined old wizards fighting to get a hold of new spells and like you would have probably done, they manipulated them for their own horny purposes.

In either case, you were still missing pieces of the puzzle that your brain couldn't come up with and you suspected you would need a lot more clues and time to figure that out, letting your mind drift back to lewd wizards while you had a brief respite to enjoy.

Do you think about this more?

More fun
