Chapter 3 by Yabusa Yabusa

Do you stop as Tori requests?

Slam on the brakes!

Something about the look in Victoria's eyes told you that she was serious. You might have wanted to keep going so you'd get home before it was dark, but you figured that maybe Tori might know who the cow belonged to.

Without another bit of hesitation, you hit the brakes, and your car skidded to a halt before you could get too far beyond the cow. Without a word, Tori unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the door, stumbling toward the bovine almost like she was re-enacting a scene from one of the cheesy zombie movies you and she used to watch. You tilted your head, chuckling a little, before you climbed out of the car as well. Leaning on the hood, you pulled out your cell phone while watching Tori shamble off.

"So, do we need to call somebody or something?" you asked, yelling above the rising wind. "My signal's not great out here, but if you know a number we could probably make a--"

You stopped yourself once you noticed the strange purple glow, resonating from Tori's hands. Was that like a flashlight or something? Maybe some special farm trick where the cows were branded with something that showed up in UV light? You didn't have a clue, your background was in architecture; and the last time you interacted with anything cow-related, it was between a bun.

"Tori?"

Your friend didn't seem to even hear you anymore. As she walked forward, so did the cow, approaching Victoria. Once she was close enough to the larger creature, she reached a hand out, and...

In a flash of light, the cow vanished. You jumped back, shocked by the disappearance of the creature--and at the changes that Victoria underwent! Her bust and hips had grown substantially, straining the fabrics of her attire. Her hair had changed color, to a darker brown--the same color that the cow's fur had been, you recalled. Two small horns sat upon her forehead.

You held your breath as Tori--was that Tori?--as the woman formerly known as Tori began to bound toward you, waving. This must be some sort of hallucination! Something in the fresh mountain air was driving you insane, clearly! "Victoria, what the hell is going on?!"

You braced yourself for the possibility that this was some sort of joke, that she'd learned this magic trick to impress you and she was just having fun. An interesting way of having fun, then, given that whatever was in her shirt bounced around as if they were really giant breasts swinging all about... still, it looked mostly like Tori, and there were no more unexplained flashes of light.

As your friend came up close to the car again, she stopped to catch her breath, hands on her hips as she leaned over. "Phew, running on two legs is weird... anyway, hello! Pete, is it? You keep saying Tori, but you can call me Lucinda since everybody calls me Lucinda, Tori's okay but she's just watching for now. I really appreciate you stopping so that I could catch a ride with you to get home! I'm a bit lost, you see. I'll find a map on Tori's phone and then you can just drive me home and drop me off, okay?"

Your wide-eyed stare at the girl wasn't what 'Lucinda' had hoped for. She shifted a little uncomfortably in front of you, adjusting her shirt to try and better accommodate her new physique. "Okay, well," Lucinda said slowly, "I can tell this is strange for both of us. How about we talk it out in the car? Maybe I can... make things worth your while? After all, it's only Tori that is really meant to help me with a serious need, but I know enough about humans from Tori's mind that I could find something to do with this body that you might enjoy..." the girl winked at you.

You rubbed your hand against your face. That was still Tori in front of you, right? You wanted answers, or for her to admit this is some prank, but you didn't know if you wanted to waste a ton of time doing it--getting in the car and driving seemed like a good idea. But do you just do as Tori--Lucinda--says? She said she could make things 'worth your while', and that prospect intrigued you, but you still had a girlfriend to think of and you'd never seen Tori act that way toward you. You could also just stay put until you get answers, whether or not Tori likes it. Still, you trusted Tori... humoring her for a little, whether this was real or a joke, seemed the better option.

Get in the car and go? Or stay put for answers?
