"You're behind on the times, Squire. Guess a fellow like you has no time to attend church, eh? Nuns and nunneries don't do like they used to, ever since Merridan out west started holding Night Parades and letting folks dance in churches. The churches themselves are not exempt from the new promoted lifestyle. What I mean to say is, for most of them, it's the opposite now. Nuns don't have chastity, they have… er, the opposite. That is to say, they’re encouraged to be… not chaste." The man rubbed one gloved thumb down his jawline with a far away frown, clearly not comfortable with the subject.

You asked: so this Rosary Hind was actually something of a free spirit? With the sweet expression on her calm, angelic eyes and plump, smiling lips, it wasn't hard to imagine she'd had a few trying to court her. Plus, from what you could see in her portrait, her robes were barely hiding a body built for sin.

The man sighed. "Would be easier that way. No, she's… a little antiquated. Still has it in her head that her maidenhood is something to be closely guarded or perhaps not given at all, 'cept now, she's opened up her heart to prepare for her one true love. I don't think she'll be an easy one to squire for. In the old days, she’d have actually been a bit of a rebel: a romantic in the church. Nowadays, wanting just one fated partner has made her seem a bit of a prude to the other sisters, to hear it told."

"Gets more complicated than that. The Sister is also half-angel, one of the few confirmed in existence. We learned about half a decade back that angels were living among us, undercover, but she's the first known product of copulation between man and the divine. Their lifespans appear to be closer to a human’s, and she’s a bit on the young side… still, she's older than you. For her to be twenty-two means that the angels have been laying with humans for a while now." He placed his hand on the poster once again contemplatively. "She's got all manner of blessings, from Geodsight to Geodshield. Some mixture of her race and sainthood has also granted her innate, supernaturally effective healing prayers. May be that she's a little closer to Geod's ear than the rest of us."

She sounded like the perfect saintess, to you.

"Sure, except that she won't be easy to court, and I remind you, being courted and acted upon is half her responsibility. At least you won't be likely to die to demons with her around, but I hope she’s still young when she finally finds the right one-- and that you're that right one. Handle it, Squire."{endif}
