Simple and clean into the department store we go!

When I had said that Mai was going to get stared at I meant it, considering the number of eyes looking at her and the frequent points at her attire I had a feeling that at least ONE person knew who she was. At the very least I was thankful it was still earlier in the afternoon before any children got out of school, that could have been a bit of a...bother should they come up and ask for autographs. Shaking myself out of those thoughts I looked over to Mai, seeing how well she was handling the new sights and attention she was gathering.

Despite her stone cold exterior I had a feeling that she was terrified, if her shivering hand was any indication then the light sheen of nervous sweat that dotted her skin certainly spoke volumes. Reaching down, I gently clasped her hand in my own, a soft smile in my face as she looked at me, "Don't worry, I know it looks odd but it's perfectly safe." After a few moments of silence Mai nodded and took a deep breath, releasing it with a slow and drawn out sigh before returning her eyesight forward, keeping focus on nothing but her direction and my hand in her shaky grip.

Given that I doubt she would be much for anything besides pants and long sleeved shirts I headed for the nearest department store, any specialty stores would probably send her into a wave of confusion and headaches anyway. Upon entering the store I felt Mai relax, the smaller number of people in the store giving her much more breathing room and less eyes gawking at her. With another soft sigh Mai released me hand, glancing up at my from the corner of her eye, "So...from what I've seen this eras fashions are...short." My lips quirked up into a smile, given that she was obviously gossiped about by a trio of girls in very short micro skirts and barely there tops she must have thought the future was insane, "Well, time changes everything and these days "less is more" as they say."

Mai sighed again, looking away with what I thought was a slight blush, "Fine...just don't get any ideas." I chuckled and nodded, "I wouldn't dream of it." With that said we headed for the woman's section, Mai's eyes glancing around as her eyebrows raised with interest. In what I wouldn't know for sure but all I know is that most of it focused on the mannequins with barely there clothing. After a while I couldn't take it anymore as asked, "Mai, what are you looking at?" Instantly Mai pointed to one of the dolls, her interest obviously waiting for me to ask a question first, "What is that? Is that supposed to be worn alone as a top?" Following Mai's finger I found her pointing to a model in the underwear section, one that was wearing only a bra and pantie set.

I held back my laughter the best I could before responding, "No...those are what replaced your bandages for providing...support for women." Mai's eyebrow raised but she nodded in understanding, heading for the section directly and picking up a bra from the rack, "So how is it supposed to work?"
