Sight seeing

“Wow!” I looked around in awe once we passed through the glass doors with Ivan and Gabi smiling. “Pretty big huh?” Gabi asked with me nodding. “Yea I-I didn’t have a mall where I was from, closest one was uhh... about thirty minutes driving.” “Oh, you lived in a town?” Ivan asked. I nodded. “Yup, relatively small town with relatively small lives.”

I squint to my left and point, “Is that a theater?” “Uh huh.” Ivan nodded, “The place has a theater showing up to eight movies.” “Damn.” I kept looking around while walking forward when Gabi started to laugh. “You look so much like a little kid in a toy store, it’s adorable!” “Right?” Ivan joined her as they both had their little moment, I scoffed but kept observing the place. True, maybe I did look that way seeing how wide open my eyes are, probably closing my mouth would make me look a little less ridiculous.

“Well, first order in business let’s go check out the clothes!” Ivan shouted in glee. “Where’s that?” I asked with him looking in the opposite direction. “It’s on the east side of the place, let’s goooo!” He grabbed my arm and practically ran dragging me with him.

There was a lot of people around us, a lot of families. Some of them looked happy, like they were enjoying a bit of bonding between them. We passed by the play area where a lot of kids were laughing, screaming and having fun playing with each other. I stared at that, must be nice living that life, their mothers on the side benches conversing with each other, gossiping, talking about whatever. One of the kids must’ve scraped their knee, it was a little boy who was sitting on the floor. He looked like he had been crying, some dried tears stained his face. His mother had just applied a band aid onto his knee and wiped his face using her sleeve. The little guy smiled, they looked rather happy. That was... cute I guess.

“Alex?” I blinked and looked over at Gabi staring at me. “Was I staring?” “Yea, a bit. You okay?” “Um... yea of course.”

“Guuuuys, I’m waiting!” Ivan shouted as he tapped his foot at the entrance to a large clothing store. Gabi held out her hand and smiled. “You ready?” I paused and looked back at the mother and son figures, she helped him up and kissed him on the head before he ran off to play some more. Silly kid. “Yea,” I reach out and grab her hand. “I think I am.” Nodding, we walked over towards Ivan and journeyed into our first store.
