Shower-time

“Right, let’s get going again” said Pal.

The mirrors withdrew, and the frame moved forward, water jets lowering from the suspended frame above.

“What fresh hell is this then?”

“Decontamination”

“What am I contaminated with?”

“You’ve been rolling around on that dirt grass pitch all day, you tell me?”

“I showered after the match”

“Yes, and yet the scan on the platform reported you only 48% cleaner than when you completed the game and the drone observed only a satisfactory level of scrubbing in the shower of your genitals and armpits and less than satisfactory everywhere else”

“How’d you know how dirty I was and what I do in the showers?!”

“Our surveillance drones have been observing you”

“Naturally, additional candidates meeting our requirements for the colony have been identified as a result of some analysis in the showers, so you should have some company soon”
