Showcase the battery.

The room is a mess. There are papers, big and small, scattered all over, with spare parts and crates and other things. There's also a ladder in the corner which presumably leads to the attic. She knocks some stuff off seats surrounding a small dinner table, and that's where your party sits. At least, you do along with her, Amara, and Eva, though the rest stand nearby. Peony just looks happy to be inside a building as always.

After doing your absolute best to explain everything you know about how a battery works, the other girls seem perplexed. It's something so alien, like explaining magic to an Earthling without the context of any fantasy story or anything like that existing. While Fava still looks as if she's struggling to understand, she's certainly the most engaged one there, and it feels as if there are parts of your explanation that stick. Gears turn in her head, almost literally given her body, and only then do you trust her to hold it. She knows now the dangers of electrical shock, and she also holds it carefully for another important reason. It's from Earth! This is something she may never see again, and she dares not to mess it up.

"So yeah," you continue. "If we can figure out how to reverse-engineer a battery but in this world, he might let us look at more Earth stuff. Not only that, but imagine Castle Phoenix being the only place in Abso with either technology straight from another world, or at least inspired by it, just like Luna has been doing with clothes."

"A flow of power," Fava mutters, lost completely in thought as she stares closely at it. Finally, she snaps back to reality and places the battery down on the table. She lays back, head tilting, and gives the girls quite a fright as it looks for a brief moment like she just died in her chair. Instead, a compartment opens on her back, and out flies a butterfly-like girl dressed rather similarly. She lands beside the battery, which is now close to a third the size of her entire body, and looks it over yet again. "Give me time, and I promise I'll figure something out, Kyle."

"I trust that given enough time, you could do even better. Technology in this world can be better in a lot of ways. Magical devices seem to just kinda recharge on their own."

Eva nods. "They use the flow of mana. So there are things that need a lot more time to recharge. Some need outside sources, like magic crystals and stuff. But yes, you're right."

Yin raises her hand and waits for permission to speak up.

"Yes. What is it, Yin?"

"Excuse me, but what sort of things use batteries in your world?"

"Well, anything that needs energy to do anything. Flashlights. Videogame controllers. Many things you'd have no idea about. Just anything that you guys have that function through magic, instead would need electricity on Earth. Usually. I mean, there are other power sources than batteries, and more types of power than electricity. Uh. What's something you'd know... I don't know. A vibrator?"

Yin flushes. "I--"

"You say that too openly!" Eva says as she pokes you in the arm. Then after a moment of staring at you, she mutters, "... They can run out of magic power too, if you use it too much in one sitting."

Niki bursts into a fit of laughter. "You'd know!"

"What does that mean?!" Eva slaps her hands down on the table and stands.

"Well, you're the one not wearing any..." She gestures a finger downward.

Eva practically bursts into flames from the sheer amount of heat going to her face. "You knew," she whispers under her breath. Then she shouts out, "Don't look so smug!" before running around the table to grab onto her.

Niki, still laughing, grabs her back. Then after pulling her under her arm with ease, she reaches a hand down to the backs of her thighs. "Say that I'm the coolest and most gorgeous gal around, or I'll open the curtains."

"Y-You wouldn't!" she screams from within the grapple, though as she wiggles frantically, it's obvious that there isn't a chance she could escape.

"I'm lifting it now~."

"You're the--Y-You're the coolest and most beautiful gal around!"

"I said gorgeous."

"G-Gorgeous!" she cries.

You lean your arms onto the table and ponder aloud. "Speaking of ENF, I wonder if there's any way we can help Malakae."

"Who?" Fava asks.

"Ah. She's a noble girl from Tolis, and a gold dragon too, though apparently her dad has connections with Elok Daven which ropes her into the mess too. Eva and I met her a bit ago, when we were visiting Redbloom Academy."

"Why are you having a calm conversation back there?!" Eva yells. "I'm in distress!"

"Ah yeah. The chick from the Sports Festival," Niki adds.

"If you'd like, we can start gathering intelligence on their family," Lynx says. "It'll be risky given the family's power, both in influence and literally speaking, but maybe we can find out more. Even make contact with Malakae."

Fava rubs her cheek up against the side of the battery as she lays over it. "You all do whatever you want. I know what I'm going to be doing with all of my time for awhile."

Finally, Niki lets the bunny go. Eva immediately tugs her skirt down, and turns flushed to the others, even though at this point, most of them aren't even paying attention to her anymore. There's a brief moment where you sense disappointment at that.

It doesn't last long. Eva looks back at Niki with a devious expression.
