"A wish, huh?" he says, seeming to think it over a bit more. "Show me it works first."
You shrug and nod, holding the cup still as you wait. "Sure. Uh, what should I wish for?"
You see him think a moment and he looks down at his gut. He rubs a thick hand through his beard as he thinks and then turns his attention to you. "Well, I hit 350 recently. Gimme 50 more to make it an even 400."
Smiling, you take a gulp and focus. Your eyes are glued to his gut as you say, "I wish my dad gained 50 pounds right now."
There's the sudden swirl of thoughts in your head but once you can focus again, you watch as it does indeed begin to happen. His belly begins to push against his shirt a bit more, causing the bottom of it to ride up a bit as he uses up what room was left in it while his shorts start to ride up a bit as they get snug in the legs and waist. He's literally growing in front of you like you're watching a movie and you're barely able to contain yourself. Honestly, this is something you've always wanted to see happen and now it was going on right in front of you.
"Ho-lee..." dad says as he looks down at his broadening chest and his growing belly. He sets his phone down next to him and grabs the sides of his belly with both hands to give it a feel. A big smile spreads across his face and he looks at you, chuckling. "Well I'll be... It actually worked!"
"Yeah! It uh... Well I'm not really sure how it works but it does work. This could really help you grow into yourself... in a manner of speaking," you laugh.
Your dad holds a hand out and motions for you to hand over the cup, "Got that right. Bring it here. I got some ideas."
It's a bit sudden for him to be asking for this but you figure it can't hurt. You get up from the chair and walk over to hand him the cup, watching as he takes it and looks down into the sparkling blue swirl inside. Then he looks at you and you see the gears moving in his head.
"So I just... take a little drink and wish?" he asks.
You nod, "Yup. Just like that. Happens instantly like that one just did."
What does dad do? Does he wish for himself? For someone else? And just how far does he go?
