She wanted to test out the powers of the coin

Later Sarah summoned Tom back to the house after Maria left for the evening. He came as called. "What do you need, Ms. Nelson?"

She examined him critically for several minutes. He stood there quietly, waiting for her command. Finally she spoke. "Tom, this is mostly good, but I feel we didn't fully understand the powers of the coin."

He was flummoxed. "What do you mean? We know that it can fulfill any wish about you.", he pointed out.

"Any wish that you breath.", she corrected him. "I am an independent, successful woman and your boss! I should have control about how I want to change! Not you!" Tom knew she was right. It felt wrong that he could decide how she changes. But as his boss, she had indirect control about it by ordering him to do so. "And there is the thing about it only fulfilling wishes about me. What about others?"

"But the old guy, who gave me the coin, said it could only grant wishes from me about you.", Tom reminded her.

"Don't correct me!" she warned him. "We are going to test it's boundaries, now! Do you understand me, Tom?"

"Yes, Ms. Nelson.", he agreed. He believed the old man's words, but his former wife had a good point. Did the coin really just work like he was told?

"Good.", Sarah gave him a small smile of satisfaction. "I put a note on the nightstand. I have written the test-wishes on it." She pointed at the note. "Pick it up and read it while holding the coin."

Tom walked over to the nightstand while pulling the coin from his pocket. He picked up the note and began reading it.
